Pokemon field moves

All the attacks below, can be used outside of battle, in the field.

Cut

Cut is used to tear down small trees in your path. It can only be used with the appropriate Gym Badge (usually from the second Gym of the game).
Type Normal Cat. Physical Power 50 Accuracy 95 PP 30

Defog

Can be used to temporarily clear foggy areas. (If you leave and re-enter the area it will become foggy again.) In Diamond & Pearl, Defog can't be used outside of battle before obtaining the Fen Badge (Pastoria City Gym); In Platinum it cannot be used before the Relic Badge (Hearthome City Gym).
Type Flying Cat. Status Power - Accuracy - PP 15

Dig

Dig can be used to escape from caves. You will be returned to the entrance, just like if you used an Escape Rope.
Type Ground Cat. Physical Power 80 Accuracy 100 PP 10

Dive

While surfing, if you happen over a dark patch of water, you can dive below the surface and explore underwater. Two regions have areas where you can dive: Hoenn (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald) and Unova (Black, White).

Flash

Lights up dark caves. In the original games dark caves made the screen completely black, whereas in later games you can always see a very short distance around you; Flash merely expands that circle.

Fly

Fly allows you to fly instantly to any PokeCenter you have already visited during the course of the game. It is usually obtained late in the game, well after you are able to use it.
Type Flying Cat. Physical Power 90 Accuracy 95 PP 15

Headbutt

In Gold/Silver/Crystal and the remakes HeartGold & SoulSilver, Headbutt can be used to shake trees. Often wild pokemon will fall out; Some pokemon are only obtainable via this method.
Type Normal Cat. Physical Power 70 Accuracy 100 PP 15

Milk Drink

In the field, using Milk Drink will take away 20% of the user's maximum HP and give it to another pokemon. (It be unusable if the user's HP is below 20%.)

Rock Climb

Can be used to ascend rocky paths, in Generation IV.
Type Normal Cat. Physical Power 90 Accuracy 85 PP 20

Rock Smash

Breaks certain rocks that may be in your path. Smashing rocks may uncover wild pokemon or items.
Type Fighting Cat. Physical Power 40 Accuracy 100 PP 15

Secret Power

In Generation III, Secret Power allowed the user to create their own secret base when used on weeping willow-esque trees.
Type Normal Cat. Physical Power 70 Accuracy 100 PP 20

Softboiled

In the field, using Softboiled will take away 20% of the user's maximum HP and give it to another pokemon. (It be unusable if the user's HP is below 20%.)
Type Normal Cat. Status Power - Accuracy - PP 10

Strength

Used to move large boulders in the field. Boulders can only be pushed, not pulled.

Surf

You can surf on your pokemon in order to cross water. A la grass and caves, while surfing, wild pokemon may appear. From Generation III onward you can now fish while surfing; previously you could only fish at the water's edge.
Type Water Cat. Special Power 95 Accuracy 100 PP 15

Sweet Scent

While standing in grass, Sweet Scent will make a pokemon automatically appear.
Type Normal Cat. Status Power - Accuracy - PP 20

Teleport

If the user is outside, Teleport will instantly transport you back to the last Pokemon Center you visited. It does not work in caves or buildings.
Type Psychic Cat. Status Power - Accuracy - PP 20

Waterfall

Allows a surfing pokemon to ascend a waterfall. Aside from Diamond, Pearl and Platinum, you do not need the move to descend waterfalls.
Type Water Cat. Physical Power 80 Accuracy 100 PP 15

Whirlpool

Whirlpool allows you to cross swirling maelstroms in your path.
Type Water Cat. Special Power 35 Accuracy 85 PP 15
