Does the Masuda Method require a parent to be a shiny Pokemon?

Or does it just need one to be from a different country?

If it doesn't than I will be trying it a lot more!

No it does need to be shiny.But you can have a shiny if you want.

Unfortunately, no you need to have two Pokemon from different countreys.
