Dvs are Ivs. They are a number 1-31 given randomly to a Pokemon. For each number your stat gets higher like evs. The highest number of IVs/Dvs you can get per stat is 31. In generatin on you get a shiny if they have perfect dvs (31 dvs in each stat.) Dvs are ivs in generation one so basically they are the same thing. hope this helps
