What are the odds for multiple hitting moves?

Question

I was wondering the odds of moves like doubleslap hitting 2x,3x,4x or 5x. I thought it was the same odds, but I usually only hit 2x maybe 3x. The trainers I face in game usually hit like 4x or 5x. What the heck!!! Am I really unlucky?

for 2 and 3 times the chance is 37.5% each
for 4 and 5 times the chance is 12.5% each

But yeah for me too it seems to be that way too. Opponents seem to just get lucky A LOT of the time. Also if the opponent has the ability skill link, it will always hit 5 times so that might be why they hit so many times.

Thanks it was very frustrating when my rjyperior rarely hit more then 2x with rock blast

i understand.  Its even worse when the opponent hits 5x and its a critical hit half of the time
