Do you catch Mespirit and the other ledgendaries in Diamond?

Yes you can catch the Lake Trio. Mespirit will be roaming around Shinoh, and the other two can be found in the Cave at Lake Variety and Lake Valor.

What if you beat the other two? I tried to capture them, but the ultra balls wouldn't work...
