What is a good moveset for Electivire?

2 votes

I couldn't find it so I decided to ask it my self. I thought for a physical moveset:

Cross chop
Ice punch
Earthquake
Thunder punch

Electivire Learnset

Ohio, did your set come straight from Serebii? or Smogon?
I think I originally got it from serebii.
Electabuzz (M) @ Evolution Stone
Trait: Vital Spirit
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Discharge
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power [Ice]
Elekid (M) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Static
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Psychic
- Signal Beam
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
mine has got:

Ice punch - to deal with its ground weakness
Thunderbolt - better accuracy than thunder
Discharge - good in double battles, it hits both opponents
Brick break - breaks moves such as mirror coat

Strange, it might not have shown up if it was mispelled. Here's my recommended set:

Earthquake-His huge attack makes this perfect.

Thunder punch/Wild Charge-Punch to go with his higher attack stat, or charge for more power. (his SpA isn't bad at all.) He also got Wild Charge in Gen V, so that's an option now.

Ice punch-Covers ground weakness.

Brick break/Cross chop-Gives a bit more type coverage.

Odd, nobody tried a SubPunch set...

Electivire (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Vital Spirit
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- ThunderPunch
- Ice Punch
- Substitute
- Focus Punch

Leftovers provides recovery. Vital Spirit prevents Electivire from sleeping on the job. ThunderPunch and Ice Punch have good coverage together. Evs give it some Speed and Attack. Substitute makes the set work. Focus Punch kills everything in it's path.

Item: Air-balloon/Focus-sash
Ability: Motor-drive
Nature: Adamant

Thunder-punch
Ice-punch

I use this set paired with my Double/Triple Rotom F to get amazing coverage. Thunder-punch is STAB. Ice-punch is coverage. Earthquake hits everything and is coverage. Rock-slide hits all foes, and is coverage.
