Meta Battle Subway PokeBase - Pokemon Q&A

What is a good moveset for Electivire?

3 votes

I couldn't find it so I decided to ask it my self. I thought for a physical moveset:

Cross chop
Ice punch
Earthquake
Thunder punch

Ohio, did your set come straight from Serebii? or Smogon?
I think I originally got it from serebii.
Electabuzz (M) @ Evolution Stone
Trait: Vital Spirit
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Discharge
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power [Ice]
Elekid (M) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Static
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Psychic
- Signal Beam
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
mine has got:

Ice punch - to deal with its ground weakness
Thunderbolt - better accuracy than thunder
Discharge - good in double battles, it hits both opponents
Brick break - breaks moves such as mirror coat
Don't go with thunderbolt and discharge in the same set. It's just a waste. Replace discharge with earthquake and replace thunderbolt with thunder if you have a rain team.

Strange, it might not have shown up if it was mispelled. Here's my recommended set:

Earthquake-His huge attack makes this perfect.

Thunder punch/Wild Charge-Punch to go with his higher attack stat, or charge for more power. (his SpA isn't bad at all.) He also got Wild Charge in Gen V, so that's an option now.

Ice punch-Covers ground weakness.

Brick break/Cross chop-Gives a bit more type coverage.

Odd, nobody tried a SubPunch set...

Electivire (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Vital Spirit
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- ThunderPunch
- Ice Punch
- Substitute
- Focus Punch

Leftovers provides recovery. Vital Spirit prevents Electivire from sleeping on the job. ThunderPunch and Ice Punch have good coverage together. Evs give it some Speed and Attack. Substitute makes the set work. Focus Punch kills everything in it's path.

Electrivire the best Electric Pokemon ever. Nature:Adamant

EVs: Attack and Defense. Motor Drive image

  • ThunderPunch: STAB It suits Electrivire.

  • Cross Chop: Again , It suits Electrivire.

  • Screech/Ice Punch 0: Good move to pwn Ground types.

  • Earthquake: PWNing Device or Best move ever?

That one is HG/SS , Plat and P/D.

This one is Black/White and Black/White 2.

  • ThunderPunch image

  • Cross Chop

  • Wild Charge/Ice Punch. 0 AND

  • Earthquake

I like BLK/WHT and BLK2/WHT2 better. I hope this moveset halps. :D

Electivire @ Wide Lens

Ability: Motor Drive

Naure: Impish (+Defense, -Sp. Atk.)

-Rain Dance (To make Thunder accuraccy's 100%)

-Thunder (STAB, very good power)

-Ice Punch (Deals with Ground Pokemon)

-Magnet Rise (To be immune for Ground attacks for 5 turns)

*You can also replace Ice Punch or Magnet Rise for Cross Chop, due to the fact that many Ground type Pokemon are with a Fighting weakness.

Mixed.
Electivire
Electrivire: life orb/expert belt
Ability: motor drive
Nature: hasty/naive
Evs: 152 atk 106 sp atk 252 spd
Thunderbolt/wild charge
Ice punch
Flamethrower/earthquake/hidden power (grass)
Cross chop/focus blast/psychic

People often forget that electivire can go mixed, as he has a very usable special attack stat and a tremendous movepool to back it. The psuedo BoltBeam combo is an automatic entry. The final two moveslots are for two of his many coverage moves. The fighting type moves just provide good coverage in general. Flamethrower is good for steel types, while earthquake does that while also hitting opposing electric types. Hp grass is for the ground types neutral to ice punch. Psychic is for the commonly used fighting types. There are many more viable move options in addition to these. Have fun

I think a scarf set would work okay. But man, it's pretty hard to think of another effective set.

Electivire @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Motor Drive
EVs: 4 HP/ 252 Atk/ 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Thunder Punch/ Wild Charge
- Ice Punch
- Cross Chop/ Brick Break
- Fire Punch/ Earthquake
Thunder Punch or Wild Charge is STAB. Ice Punch covers Ground, Grass, and Dragon. Everything else is just for coverage.

Electivire @ Expert Belt

Nature- Adamant

Trait- Motor Drive

EVs- Attack 252
Speed 252
HP 4

Moves:

Earthquake-Powerful coverage, hits multiple foes

Thunder Punch- Powerful, STAB, no recoil damage unlike Wild Charge

Brick Break- Another good solid coverage move, breaks down any walls set up by foes (risks)

Fire Punch/Ice Punch- Either one for another good coverage, Expert Belt helps boost Super Effective hits

This set makes use of the extremely high base Attack of 123, decent Speed and HP, and an Expert Belt helps ensure the Super Effective moves get an added boost. Probably not a sweeper, yet has the ability to reduce the need to predict that first sent out Pokemon.
