Do Rare Candy have negative effects?

I recently acquired a lot of rare candy, and I was thinking of buffing out my Walrein. I just wanted to know if rare candy has any negative effects, like lower stats, or higher chance of being hit with a critical hit, or something like that.

No negative effects unless you play competitively. Then you wont be able to EV train. What I suggest you do is fully EV train and then use Rare candies to finish the training.

Rarely using rare candies won't have a negative effect, but 96% of the Pokemon will get a negative effect no matter what like: less health, less defense, less speed, and less attack. In fact, all Pokemon's happiness won't go up as fast as it does when training.

Those effects are only negative if you are playing competitively in terms of the stat or EV training as i stated above. And the happiness thing only applies to pokemon that evolve off of happiness which is a few.
