Yeah, Sturdy is now a makeshift Focus Sash, and will always leave you with 1 HP before fainting.

And to answer the question that will likely be answered in the future: NO. You will not be able to stack Sturdy and Focus Sash for 2 turns of enduring.

Well, that is obvious, as you won't have full health (unless you manage to get Shednija with Sturdy)
