I read that Nidoran(male) could breed and Nidoran (female) could breed, but can Nidoran breed? I want a Nidoran (female) or another Nidoran (male) and I'm not sure which one I'm going to get. Which one???

Nidoran (M) can breed with Ditto, but the resulting offspring will always be male. I think there's a glitch in the earlier games that causes Nidoqueen and Nidorina to be unable to breed, making Nidoran (F) your only option if you want a female offspring.

The chances of getting a female offspring with Nidoran (F) paired with either a Ditto or Nidoran (M) is random.

If you breed Nidorino with Ditto, you will get the male Nidoran.
And yeah, the female Nidoran is the only evolution of the Nidoqueen family that can breed, so you will have to breed Nidoran female with a ditto or a Nidoran male, or Nidorino or Nidoking to get a Nidoran female egg.
