Head smash is not required , you anyways have a move covering flying and head smash causes too much recoil and emboar would probably faint after usinhg it because it is slow enough to attack last .
This is the exact moveset i use and its acualy really good
Hey, uh, Unidentified, the set clearly is equiped with the ability called RECKLESS, which prevents recoil damage. That being said, Head Smash and Flare Blitz are excellent choices, especially through a Choice Band that can boost speed. Just throwing it out there.
@Enoch
__________
RECKLESS:
"Reckless increases the base power of moves which cause recoil or crash damage by 20%."
___
ROCK HEAD:
"Rock Head prevents recoil damage"
__________
Choice Band:
"Boosts Attack by 50%, but only allows the use of the first move selected."
___
Choice Scarf:
"Boosts Speed by 50%, but only allows the use of the first move selected."
__________
Please do the research before you comment. Rock Head is wat you are thinking about. Reckless would most likely cause more recoil damage.

As for the Choice Items, you are thinking about Choice Scarf.

Emboar has an OK Special movepool. Here's a good set.

Ability: Blaze
EVs: SpAtk max, then Def/SpDef split.

  • Flamethrower
  • Hidden Power Ice (if possible) or Focus Blast
  • Grass Knot or Scald (don't need both, they cover roughly the same)
  • Double Team or Rest

Actually, pokemaster, nowadays in competetive battles, double team isnt allowed.
Although that might change so I'll keep it in consideration.
It's stupid that people hate any element of chance in Pokemon. All the best games have a slight luck factor!

Emboar (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Reckless
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Head Smash
- Flare Blitz
- Wild Charge
- Earthquake

Suicide pig.

Jolly + Scarf will let you out speed tons of threats.
After you have that out of the way, just sweep.

You have Reckless boosted recoil moves and Earthquake at your disposal!
Flare Blitz is STAB. The rest is coverage.

I don't really like the idea of using this guy as kamikaze, but it seems best.

Ability: Reckless

EV training: HP, Attack, Speed. Nature: Jolly.

Flare Blitz: Makes use of STAB and Reckless.

Head Smash: Incredibly powerful with Reckless, sure to take down the foe. Flying types stand no chance.

Wild Charge: Another move that makes use of Reckless, while taking down Water and Flying types.

Body Slam: Hopefully you can paralyze the foe with this move. It also can be used if for some reason you don't want to do incredibly massive damage.

I am now answering instead of putting it in the question. Seeing as this is an entirely new generation, I am also going to be suggesting ability, EV training, and nature.
I like the idea. if only he had rock head...
Trachy I think that he would make a better physical tank do to high hp
My anser exactly. plus I don't feel like answering this myself. maybe someday I willl.
Best moveset for this guy. It applies what little potential he has.
(I love my Emboar, though I wish that he was bulkier. He LOOKS bulky :)

Trachy that is a good moveset/ev though I like this one

Heat Crash/Flare blitz(heat Crash if he is heavy enough)

Hammer arm(he is already pathetically slow so the stat drop won't matter)

Wild Charge (takes care of flying and water types)

Earthquake(becuase every one needs earthquake)

EV train hp and attack nature adamant

item leftovers

Enbuoo is like machamp high attack and good hp and very low speed thus making it strictly a tank.
If Emboar is slow, then why does PIGGLET have 203 spe.?
251 is the highest speed he can have. Even that isn't fast at all for a sweeper, considering that tons of pokemon have speeds over 300 and even dip into the 400s. Choice scarf also throws a new factor into the equation.

emboar-iron ball
i think this works if not comment
hamer arm-stab
heatcrash-iron ball makes him heavy enough
wild charge-coverage
fling-psy coverage and puts speed back where it should be

This works, but Gyro Ball is essentially useless in comparison to Hammer Arm as Steel types are only super-effective to two types, Ice and Rock, both are hit by Fighting types. Furthermore, Gyro Ball will do different amounts of damage to faster / slower Pokemon, with a maximum 150, Hammer Arm is always 150 power (100 x 1.5 for STAB= 150), and it also covers three more types than Gyro Ball.
interesting moveset........but i agree with heinz ketchum on this one. hammer arm is way more reliable.
thanks i never actually did the math on it

OK...this should be a (somewhat) good moveset.

Emboar Trait:Blaze @Iron Ball

-Flame Charge (puts speed up so he's not rediculously slow,STAB)
-Heat Crash (He's already super-heavy with but with iron ball he's like a lighter Groudon)
-Fling (Psycic coverage, max damage with iron ball)
-Grass Not (Water Coverage, good for battle against Samurott)

I do not care if this Q has already been answered, but this might just work...
Why both Flame Charge and Heat Crash?
Iron-ball lowers speed and grounds levitaters/flying types it does not increase weight.
The iron ball seems to be more for the higher base power on fling.
I actually like this set flame charge is STAB and makes up for irons ball lowered speed then when emboars fast enough he can murder with heat crash
THANK YOU! Finaly someone understands the whole point of the moveset
But it doesn't work well to be honest, not trying to be a jerk.
Heat crash is horrible for Emboar, it might have about a 55 base power, despite him looking like a fatso, he doesn't way that much, and iron ball actually doesn't increase your weight. Flame Charge is decent if you want to rely on the speed boost, but honestly Emboar isn't bulky enough to set it up, and won't be likely to KO an opponent with it, Fling was a cool idea to hit psychic types, and Grass knot doesn't work with an all physical set to just throw it in there, perhaps something like earthquake, you can never go wrong with earthquake :]

Item: Leftovers
Ability: Blaze
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 6 Hp

Flame-charge
Flare-blitz
Earthquake
Brick-break

Flame-charge boosts speed so you do not need a Scarf to sweep :D. Flare-blitz is STAB. Earthquake is coverage. Brick-break is coverage. This is not a suicide sweeper unlike most Emboar which is why he does not have reckless nor non STAB recoil moves.

Item: Evolite
Ability: Thick fat
Nature: Brave
EVs: 252 Attack, 200 Hp, 58 S. Defense

Curse
Flare-blitz
Brick-break
Rock-slide/Stone-edge/Wild-charge/Magnitude

Curse boosts Attack and Defense. Flare-blitz is STAB. Brick-break is STAB. Rock-slide/Stone-edge/Wild-charge/Magnitude your choice of Coverage, Rock-slide if you want more reliability, Stone-edge for more power, Wild-charge for Water-types, and Magnitude if you are willing to take the risk.

Magnitude? MAGNITUDE?!?!?!?!?! You realize that Earthquake is SO much better that MAGNITUDE, right?
He can not learn Earthquake.
Dude, Magnitude is legit. Better than Earthquake xD
Aww, I suck xD No, this thing sucks cause it can't learn Earthquake xD

Ability Blaze
Item Iron Ball

Fling( He has an Iron Ball, Fling throws the item at the opponent and does damage, ALSO MAKING THE OPPONENT HOLD IT THEREFORE HEAVIER THAN EMBOAR!)
Brick Break ( Breaking Light Screen etc)
Stone Edge ( Powerful move to use)
Flamethrower ( Its better than heat crash since heat crash is ok, but Emboar that heavy and Fire Blast has horrible accuracy.)

this isnt to good at all.
Heatcrash is ok with item but he is only 230lbs which is pretty light compared to allot of fully evolved pokemon.
wild charge isnt stab-stab is same type attack bonus electric is not fire or fight.
low sweep isnt the best.
Also its not compulsory but its helpfull that you add evs and nature but from the sounds of things you havent a clue about them http://pokemondb.net/ev  http://pokemondb.net/mechanics/natures
Read the other post, Iron Ball DOESN'T increase weight. However, I see your logic in this, nice try ;)
