Likely Tier: Underused
Samurott is the best of a bad bunch! Emboar has good attack but no speed to back it up. Serperior has good speed and defense but lower attack (depending on movesets I *may* choose Serperior). Samurott is a great all-rounder.
Nobody likes Emboar D=

Sorry I haven't been on lately! Been studying for tests that seem to pop up a lot. So anyway, here is my suggested set:

Special-

Ice-Beam-Special, good power, covers Grass weakness.

Boiling water/Surf-I know I'm going to get a lot of heat for this (no pun intended), but I would only use surf in one on one battles, with 2 vs 2, and the new 3 on 3 battles, Surf will likely still be targeted at everyone other than the user. So boiling water is good if you take that into account (Unless of course you're in a single battle, or you team favors water attacks, like the ability water absorb)

Trump Card- With the new PP based moves, and pressure gaining more attention, This can be used for a surprise attack.

Taunt/Air Slash/hidden power [Ground]-Taunt to force out walls, or air slash for added coverage. Hp can cover electric weakness if you find it necessary.

Physical

Swords Dance-Boosts attack

Waterfall/Aqua tail/Shell Blade-Water fall is the median of power and reliability. Aqua tail gives you a bit more power which can make the difference. Shell blade is probably the one I'll get the most complaints about. While it does have lower power than the other two, It offers a 50% chance to lower defense, so Your opponent can either risk trying to survive our attacks with your boosted attack and their lowered defense, or swap out, giving you a free switch.

X-Scissor-bug move, covers his grass weakness.

Night Slash/Revenge/Vengeance-Night slash is good for added type coverage, revenge works well early thanks to his decent defenses, meaning he'll be low on health fairly early in the battle. Vengeance is really only if you're in a double or triple battle.

or megahorn instead of x-scissor.

A Special-focused Samurott seems like the best choice, at least for type coverage. Shame there's no Amnesia when it has Swords Dance.

  • Surf
  • Ice Beam
  • Air Slash
  • Substitute

EVs: I think a mixed spread would be good.
252 SpAtk, 156 Speed, 20 Def, 80 SpDef

Amnesia? Not since Gen 1 did that make something into a special sweeper.

My Starter Also Trachy. It Will Be An Excelent Mix Sweeper. Trust Me. This Is The In Game set ill be using:

Ice Beam: Fairly Obvious Move.

Surf: Yeah.

Megahorn: Bit More Coverage.

Air Slash/Night Slash: For A Crit Hit Ratio.

This One Might Be good for Competetive:

Swords Dance: To Raise Attack.
Waterfall/Aqua Tail: STAB
Megahorn/X-Scizzor: For Grass, Not Bad Coverage
Night Slash/Ice Beam/Grass Knot/Return/Aerial Ace: For Backup.
EVS: 252 Speed, 252 Attack, 4 Sp. Defense
Nature: Jolly or Hasty

Or This Special Set:
Surf: Of Course.
Ice Beam: Of Course
Air Slash: Yep, Good Coverage, Crit Hit Rate.
Grass Knot: For Those Other Water Types. I Was Surprised it could learn this, but its a good move for it:)

Nature: Timid: To Get That Speed Up.
Quick Claw: If This Isnt Enough Speed, Use A Quick Claw!
EVs: 152 Sp. Attack, 252 Speed, 100 Sp. Defense

Trachy? Why the crap did you use return?
Because Normal and Water gets excellent neutral coverage. And besides, it's not like Return is a bad move.
What can I say, I prefer Night Slash.

And on your first comment,
Thats why Bibareal is so amazing! XD

My least favorite of the starters, this guy doesn't have anything that stands out.

Ability: Torrent

EVs: Attack, Defense, Sp. Def Nature: Adament

Swords Dance: Not good enough Special moves, so time to make a Physical Water type. Mix might work, but Swords Dance is given, so why pass up on this great move?

Waterfall: An obvious choice.

Megahorn: Deals with Grass types, and has high power.

Night Slash: I like this. I really dislike having to face Ghost types, no matter what Pokemon I am using. Also more reliable for hitting Psychic.

I would replace swords dance with bulk up, but otherwise I like it.
And it can't learn Bulk Up.
How does Samurott learn night slash???

Samurott is a soild choice for a starter. It's has higher special attack then most water types. My Samurott knows this moves (I don't recommand this moveset)

Surf
Waterfall
Mega horn
Revenge

Here's a good moveset for it:

Surf - A good move for Samurott. It has nice power, special based, and has nice PP.

Ice beam/Mega horn - both good are powerful to grass, but if your looking for peer power, use
mega horn. If your looking for special based power, use ice beam.

Grass knot - For water types that think they could defeat Samurott.

Air slash - Extra coverge.

ability: shell armor---for defense wise

moves:
-grass knot---against any water pokemon that thinks they could beat samurott
-ice beam---great move that's about it
-megahorn---it's MEGAHORN!!! great against grass weakness
-surf---water STAB

Why use status moves when you have perfect attack coverage

Ice beam-covers grass weakness

Dig-covers electric weakness

Hydro pump-an excellent move

Hydro cannon-for good measure

Well, you'd use status moves over the incredibly predictable Dig and the uselessness of two Water type attacks, one of which is absolutely awful (Hydro Cannon).

Hydro cannon-gotta be max happeniness to learn
Hydro pump-a back-up to hydro cannon
Megahorn-that big horn of his has to do sumthing and bye bye grass types
Blizzard-bye grass types and it is also a awesome move
You can switch one for giga impact if you want

dont think hydro canon and hydro pump will do much good caus of its bad accuracy i suggest surf would be better and since this is a sp sweeper u better go wit ice beam over megahorn and blizzard
Not exactly a reliable moveset

Samurott (torrent)
adamant, leftovers, 252 Att/ 252 Spe/ 4 HP

  • Sword Dance
  • Dragon Tail
  • Copycat
  • Aqua Jet (final move before death with priority, get power up from torrent and sword dance)

so, have another pokemon set stealth rock, spikes, toxic spikes, and switch to samurott set sword dance once and have fun dragon tailing using copycat with normal priority.

This wouldn't end well, since copycat has no priority with samurott's low base speed, and poor defensive bulk. It's more built for attacking.
that's the reason that it must maxed speed stat, eventough he is not that fast but 262 is enough, i think,
even so, this is a good way to make use copycat, isn't it?

This might be a good moveset:
Scald - STAB, chance of burn, fairly powerful
X - Scissor - Coverage, more reliable than Megahorn
Dig - Defense over Electric types
Ice Beam - Almost all water types should have this

Samurott
Item: Choice-scarf
Ability: Torrent
Nature: Modest
EVs: 252 S.Attack, 252 Speed, 6 Hp

Surf, Hydro-pump or Scald

Ice-beam

Air-slash

Hidden-power(Ground)

Your choice of STAB, Surf is for reliable power, Hydro-pump is for power, and Scald is lower power but chance of burn if you really want it. Ice-beam is coverage. Air-slash is also coverage. And once again Hidden-power(Ground) is coverage. This has nothing that resists it and covers 417 Pokemon for super-effective damage.

Samurott (M) @ Expert Belt
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 60 Atk / 68 Def / 128 SAtk
Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd)
- Megahorn
- Hydro Pump
- Dragon Tail
- Revenge

Mixed tank is my favorite for this guy.

Megahorn + Hydro Pump gives some nice coverage options.

Dragon Tail + Revenge are milking all they can off of that Brave nature. Dragon Tail for threats you can't take down, but can take a hit from. Revenge for things that you can take a hit from, but need a little bit of an extra push to take down >:)

Expert Belt is a nice item choice because you're running 4 attacking moves that give pretty good coverage.
