I'm EV training a Cubchoo that I plan to evolve. I was wondering if Beartic was even worth using, as Cryogonal might be a better option. Should I use Beartic?

With some good team support, yes Beartic is worth using, and it can function as a good sweeper in several ways.

Beartic can't really be a tank due to poor typing and mediocre defences. With Snow Cloak though, it would function best on Hail teams, giving it more chance of survival. It's painfully slow though, with a base speed of 55, so it'll need some good spin support, otherwise its health will be cut by 25% from Stealth Rock before it can even do anything.

Beartic also has the DW ability Swift Swim, which will double its abysmal speed stat to something usable. This is probably the best & most effective way to use Beartic, on a Rain team. It not only has very good STAB move in Icicle Crash, but also Swords Dance, in addition to Aqua Jet.

Non-rain Beartic
Beartic @ Life Orb
Ability: Snow Cloak
EVs: 252 Atk, 212 Speed, 44 HP
Nature: Jolly
- Icicle Crash
- Aqua Jet
- Superpower
- Stone Edge

No Swords Dance for this set as Beartic is too slow to set up. Just go all out with attacking moves.

Drizzle Beartic
Beartic @ Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Speed, 4 HP
Nature: Jolly
- Swords Dance
- Icicle Crash
- Low Kick
- Encore/ Aqua Jet

Encore is actually pretty useful with Swift Swim, since it can trap calm mind stallers and let Beartic set up a Swords Dance.

Yes, beartic can be a powerful tank with powerful moves like Icicle Crash, Stone edge, Focus Punch, Dive, and even Superpower. It has the ability Snow Cloak, which raises evasion in hail. This makes it useful on a hail team. I hope this helps! -Jellohamster
