Meta Battle Subway PokeBase - Pokemon Q&A

What is a good moveset for Scrafty?

5 votes

Another interesting and unique type combo. A Fighting type without a Psychic weakness!

Likely tier: Borderline
Drain punch
Crunch
Bulk up
Rest
I reckon a good moveset for Scrafty is Focus Punch, High jump kick, giga impact and Hyper beam
Scrafty's a cool Pokemon and all, but I don't really understand it that much. Think about it: it punches a ghost and does nothing, it bites a ghost and lands super-effective damage.

Man, my Zuruzukin is a beast. I seriously love using this Pokemon in battle. They look kinda cool, too!

HI JUMP KICK (Incredibly power STAB with fair accuracy. Feeling lucky?)

CRUNCH (More STAB with Defense loss)

STONE EDGE / DRAGON DANCE (Use Stone Edge for coverage against Flying-types, or Dragon Dance for buffing)

DRAGON CLAW / FAKE OUT (Bonus hits on the Dragon, or the PUNCH FROM BROOKLYN)

Hi Jump Kick is an awesome last resort move. Its power increased to 130 in B/W, but if you miss you lose HALF YOUR HP!!
Why was this voted down?
zoom lens HI JUMP KICK is awesome on Srcafty thanks to it's low speed.makes it's accuracy 99. pretty good chance if you ask me.

Its dis-advantages are Flying and fighting and its quite slow...so id recommend !!

Thunderpunch/Icepunch (Beats flying)
Zen headbutt (Beats fighting)
Draco dance (Speed+Power)
Hi-Jump Kick* /Crunch(STAB)
I recommend Hi jump kick cause fighting has more adv. than dark in offence !
Hope I helped .
Cheers!!

The same moveset that I'm using!
Aren't Scrafty Perfect... and you can give all these Moves without Wasting one Shards just Get a SMEARGLE, Sketch them and Breed him!

Great defenses and decent attack = nice physical wall. However, he has a lot of great attacks so you could bulk him up with full Attack/HP EVs and go for 4 attacking moves.

EVs: 252 HP, 80 Attack, 108 Defense, 68 SpDef
Ability: Overconfident

Toxic
Double Team
Crunch
Stone Edge or Ice Punch

You mean moxie or intimidate

Beware of Shedinja, Starmie, Slowbro/king, Tentecruel, Froslass, Victini, Jellicent, Chandelure, and Volcarona. (Skarmory also ruins it with Whirlwind)
Why not crunch? It gets stab and has perfect coverage on every pokemon in the game except heracross and toxicroak.
Mine is similar but instead of rest stone edge and instead of bulk up dragon dance

I'm gonna get beat for this, but I'm currently trying it, and this could just possibly work....

Eminem (Scrafty) (M) @ Liechi Berry
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 8 Atk / / 252 SDef / 248 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Ice Punch
- Bulk Up/Dragon Dance, or both, as I did.
- Hi Jump Kick
- Stone Edge

The nickname is an obscure reference to Slim Shady, although I hate it, I thought it fit in perfectly. Before you say ANYTHING about the ability, please first consider I've invested in a lot of Sp. Def and I have just better than decent Defense. THAT is why I have Intimidate. If you think you're fast or bulky enough, you start with Bulk Up. If you think you're gonna get raped, switch. If you think severe (Yet Surviving) damage go for a Dragon Dance. After boosting, and possibly getting a Liechi boost, go start sweeping. Have fun with your Stone Edge (Flying coverage among 4 others) and your high-end STAB/Coverage Hi-Jump Kick.

After much research I found that the moveset with the widest coverage is: FIGHTING, DARK, ICE, GROUND. Covering 14/17 types. (all but water, fighting, and bug)

Scrafty is one of the only Pokemon that can be easily obtained and acquire this set without extensive breeding.

My Scrafty knows:

BRICK BREAK: in learned by level up, nice damage and not as risky as Hi Jump Kick which causes Scrafty to lose 1/2 his max HP if he misses.

CRUNCH: solid physical dark move learned by level up.

DIG: solid, two turn, ground move learned by TM found early in the game (route 4 in BW2). And only ground type attack Scrafty can preform.

ICE PUNCH: best physical ice attack in the game. Can be aquired in Driftveil City through the move tutor in the house west of the pokécenter for 10 red shards (BW2). Also covers his flying weakness.

Without this moveset it's a waste of a Scrafty's coverage advantage.

Ok. I have answered late but this moveset is BAWS for sweeping.

Scrafty
Item: Muscle Band
EVs: 252 Atk | 252 Spe| 4 Def
Trait: Moxie
Nature: Adamant
Moves:

  • Ice Punch ( coverage against Flying types without recoil from a move like Head Smash.)
  • Drain Punch ( Provides healing for Scrafty and has decent power)
  • Crunch ( Coverage)
  • Dragon-Dance ( You know why that is here. xD)

Ok this is a sweeper Scrafty incase you didn't know :P

Scrafty is such a boss.

Adamant Nature

Ability: Moxie

Held Item: Leftovers (With Outrage - Persim Berry)
- Bulk Up or Amnesia
- Low Sweep
- Crunch or Faint Attack
- Ice Punch or Outrage

Low Sweep could be changed Hi Jump Kick only if you have Ice Punch.
Hi Jump Kick will help the foe knock you out if it's used Fly before you attack BEWARE.
One more thing, Hi Jump Kick has a slight chance of missing already.

Scrafty @ Life Orb
Ability: Moxie
Nature: Adamant (^Atk vSpAtk)
EVs: 252 Atk, 178 HP, 80 Def
- High Jump Kick (130 BP + STAB + LO anyone?)
- Dragon Dance/Bulk Up (One of these and you're set)
- Drain Punch (LO Recovery, pretty nice damage)
- Iron Head (Coverage against the damn fairies that wreck it this gen)

Served me quite well before. Well, before it was Ice Punch/Zen Headbutt. But then the Fairy Nation attacked.

Replace one of those Fighting moves with Knock Off / Dual Chop FTW
Hm. But they're both so good! D:
Both fighting moves, that is.
Y not Crunch?
lol crunch
We'd like some EVs etc please. And could you make it a bit easier to read? The actual moves are good otherwise. Though, you may want to run Knock Off over Crunch now

Why hasn't anyone posted this lol?
One of the the best sweeping movesets ever!
Scrafty @ Life Orb
Moxie
252Atk/252spe/4HP
Jolly nature
-Drain Punch
-Dragon Dance
-Ice Punch
-Knock off

Drain Punch is powerful STAB for healing back life orb damage.
Dragon Dance to up speed and attack and to sweep. (It outspeeds all Pokemon(provided no scarf) after 2 DD and most of the Pokemon after 1 DD and you can proceed to sweep with moxie boost.
Ice Punch for coverage against both flying and ground (thunder punch won't hit ground if they switch predicting it)
Knock off for stab and to get rid of opponents item!

This set only hits azumarill and Marill not very effectively while beating up everyone else. (Move coverage allows it to hit 480 Pokemon super effectively)

EVs: Attack, Sp Def, Def Nature: Adamant

Stone Edge: Deal with one of your two weaknesses.

Substitute: Low speed allows you to pull it off well.

Focus Punch: Protected by Substitute for major damage.

Crunch: STAB.
