Meta Battle Subway PokeBase - Pokemon Q&A

Does Swampert count as a "Wall"?

0 votes

I EV Trained my Shiny Swampert to have 252 HP and 252 Attack. It's really bulky against other competitive teams, and I was wondering if it is seen as a wall since it's so hard to knock out...

No. Your Swampert would be a physical tank. If you wanted it to be a wall, you could change his Atk EVs to Def, making him quite bulky, and an excellent Stealth Rock setter. A tank, however, is a Pokemon that can take hits from frailer sweepers like Alakazam, and dish out a powerful attack of its own, usually in hopes of obliterating aforementioned sweeper.

No, it is one of the best UU Pokemon as a physical tank, with sky high Defence and HP.

Swampert @ Leftovers
Trait: Torrent
Relaxed Nature
240 HP / 16 Atk / 252 Def

  • Stealth Rock
  • Scald / Waterfall
  • Earthquake
  • Toxic / Roar

The purpose of the EVs is to reach a Leftovers number to recover more
HP and maximize physical bulk. The remainder of the EVs are put into
Attack so Earthquake can hit slightly harder. - Smogon Set Description.
