Did female Starly always have a smaller white bump than males?

Ok I only saw this recently but did female Starly have a smaller white bump than males?

Yeah, they've always had that. By clicking on the link below, you can look at every generation's sprites,(4 and 5) and you will always see the difference. Also, this doesn't matter, but they're not bumps; It's just the coloring on their heads. :)

Male StarlyFemale Starly

Look at these two sprites. Can you see the differences? For the female (right), yes, it's white face is bigger, and the male's white face is smaller. However, according to this it is portrayed that the male Starly have bigger foreheads. Which is understandable, but if you zoom in close enough you can find that isn't really true.

So, your theory is correct. Congratulations for spotting that!
