Meta Battle Subway PokeBase - Pokemon Q&A

How should I EV train this Mawile?

0 votes

It's an adamant one with perfect IVs in HP, Attack, Defense, and Special Defense, since the guy at the Pokemon center said it was Outstanding. I also did an IV calc, and its speed iv is between 25-31 so that is still good. Would prefer a Jolly one, but this was too good to give up, so I was wondering what a good way to train an offensive one and if you can, give me a mega-mawile set.

252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 Spd.

This set would give maxed out attacking power while getting great bulk. Its base speed is 50, so why invest more than a few EVs?

This set is the one that I would choose to run.

Mawile @ Mawilite
Trait: Intimidate -> Huge Power
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 Spd
Adamant Nature

  • Swords Dance
  • Sucker Punch
  • Play Rough
  • Iron Head / Ice Punch

This set takes advantage of Mawile good bulk and Intimidate on the initial switch into set up a SD, then sweep.

Mawile (Mega)
252atk, 136hp, 120 def (shouldn't invest in speed, I think)
Huge power
Iron head (flinch, STAB)
Sucker punch, crunch (pirority or additional effects)
Rock slide/ ice punch (Fire or Dragons)
Play rough/Super fang (STAB, nice 50% health cut)

Mawile @ Mawilite
Trait: Intimidate -> Huge Power
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 Spd
Adamant Nature

-Swords Dance
-Sucker Punch
-Play Rough
-Substitute

If you can get out the substitute and when they are switching in and swords dance when they attack, you're ready for a clean sweep
