Gogoat @ Leftovers
Ability: Sap Sipper
EVs: 252 HP, 252 Sp. Def, 4 Atk
Nature: Careful
-Bulk Up
-Leaf Blade/ Horn Leech
-Milk Drink/ Rock Slide

Sap Sipper is a bit useless for a Grass type now, because none of the spore moves work on them anymore, so you don't get a free boost with Sleep Power etc. It's already immune to Leech Seed as well. But then again, Grass Pelt is more useless competitively. I know that Florges learns Grassy Terrain, but it's still useless in light of Sap Sipper at least giving you an immunity.

I think Gogoat has a decent movepool, at least it gets access to EdgeQuake combo. Well, Rock Slide instead of Stone Edge, but the effect is the same. However, it's a shame that it's a pure Grass type, meaning it can't successfully tank without a few Bulk Ups because of its many weaknesses. Horn Leech is probably better for Gogoat, since it serves the purpose of both Leaf Blade & Milk Drink.

Actually, it still raises the attack when status moves are used. I always switch my Skiddo into my friend's grass types or things with grass type moves. Now you know. P.S This is my favorite Gogoat moveset minus the leftovers, I would've put in Big Root. Good job!
I know that Sap Sipper raises attack; I was just commenting that it's now not as useful because things like Sleep Powder/ Stun Spore/ Spore won't activate Sap Sipper because Gogoat is grass type, and all grass types gained immunity in Gen VI from spore/ powder moves.
As for Big Root, that's only useful for one thing. Leftovers is much more reliable recovery.
How do you get gogoat to learn rock slide? I've been looking everywhere
Use TM80.

I had a lot of sets prepared for this guy :P

He's got a really nice base attack which makes me think we can run a BulkyBand set.

Gogoat @ Choice Band
Ability: Sap Sipper
EVs: 252 Atk / 248 HP / 8 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Horn Leech/Leaf Blade
- Wild Charge
- Payback

Wild Charge hits flying type, EQ hits fire types Payback is good as we aren't running speed and many sweepers can outspeed him. Horn Leech is nice for recovery and STAB, while Leaf Blade is more power. Personally preference really.

Grassy Terrain Tank

enter image description here

Gogoat @ Leftovers:
Trait: Grass Pelt
EV: 252 HP / 128 Sp.Atk / 128 Sp.Def
Hardy Nature

  • Surf
  • Horn Leech / Leaf Blade
  • Bulk Up
  • Earthquake

I have no ideas about the nature. Frankly, that thing needs all of his stats so I cannot raise one and lower one. So I went for a neutral natures. Bulk Up raises its frail defense and decent attack and when used twice, you are sure you won't be easily KOed. Horn Leech is a recovery STAB, while Leaf Blade for the power. I would personally go Horn Leech for ensuring longevity. Surf is a bizarre choice, but it provides nice coverage against Fire and uses Gogoat's all decent special attack. Earthquake is Earthquake. You know! That 100 Power / 100 Accuracy powerful and relentless Ground move. Now, you know ?

Well after using this guy in-game I must say he's pretty awesome. As fondant already mentioned his Sap Sipper ability did experience an unfortunate nerf, but it's still better (imo) than his other ability.

He's got some really good HP and not too shabby SDef so this is one possible set to try out.

Gogoat @ Leftovers
Ability: Sap Sipper
EVs: 252 SDef / 248 HP / 8 Spd
Careful Nature
- Toxic
- Milk Drink/Protect
- Leech Seed
- Horn Leech/Leaf Blade

Toxic + Leech Seed + Milk Drink = Ultimate survivability. Unfortunately being a grass type he has lots of weaknesses. If you decide to run Horn Leech I would say go for Protect > Milk Drink. If you go for Leaf Blade, then go with Milk Drink. Just one possible, though unlikely, set we can see him using.

So basically, he's a cross between Sawsbuck, Bouffalant, and Miltank?

Here's the moveset I used:
enter image description here

Gogoat @Big Root
Ability: Sap Sipper
Adamant Nature
EVs 252 Atk, 126 HP, 126 Def, 4 Sp. Def

  • Horn Leech
  • Leech Seed
  • Earthquake
  • Rock Slide

  • With Big Root, Horn Leech & Leech Seed should help you survive with additional STAB and the other two cover all your weaknesses :D

Gogoat @ Big Root/Leftovers
Ability: Sap Sipper
EVs: 252 Atk, 240 HP, 16S
Nature: Adamant

  • Leaf Blade
  • Earthquake
  • Wild Charge/Rocklside
  • Horn Leech/Bulk Up

Leaf Blade is its best move and is good stab. Earthquake covers fire weakness and is a solid move. The third slot is to cover the flying weakness, either Rocklside or Wild Charge, and the fourth slot is personal preference, if you want recovery or be able to set up a couple of Bulk Ups.

With Gogoats high attack and hp stats, this seems like it would work out well

Ability: Sap Sipper (or grass pelt if running doubles with grassy terrain)
Item: shellbell/leftovers (or big root if using horn leech)
252 evs in hp and attack, 4 speed
Adamant Nature
-Leaf Blade (good STAB move)
-Milk Drink/Horn Leech (recover more hp or recover some and damage opponent)
-Earthquake (Coverage, plus its earthquake)
-Rockslide (combined with earthquake gives full coverage, plus good in double battles)

Could replace rockslide with bulk up to boost attack and defense, or synthesis with a grassy terrain support as well, but find the extra coverage against flying and fire work well, especially in double battles

i call this one the barbarian goat \m/ -_- \m/

EV : 252 ATK / 252 HP / 4 whatever you want cause it doesn't make a difference to the stat at this point cause ... well its only 4 damn EV
nature : up HP or ATK lower DEF
Item : leftover
ability : sap sipper ... mostly because him too lazy to even learn what is grass pelt so ... yeah sap sipper

HORN LEECH : cause a true barbarian just charge head first into the enemy , stand on the corpse and let loose an revigoring scream just to feel better !!!
AERIAL ACE : a barbarian think about 3 things in life : woman , food and most importently what is the best weapon to use in each situation common humain being call it coverage , barbarian dont call it they kick ass with it !!!
ROCK SLIDE : true barbarian make the wall crumble and the roof fall only with the pure awsomenes of they're existence !!!
EARTHQUAKE : ... sorry no barbarian pond earthquake is just way above everything In existence ... yes even barbarian

This guy got lots of HP but taking a whole turn to set up will get I'm beat up realy hard from any super effective physical hit because of its poor DEF stat ( and god know that the things who got lots of ATK stat are RARELY using fire , ice or bug type move ) whats more the only reliable DEF stat booster he got is bulk up wich do boost bot its ATK and DEF stat but only by one stage each wich make it basicaly pointless cause it would need two turn to set up to a respectable DEF stat but the opponent will probably be smarter than a frog and destroy you with flarblitz or megahorn or something like that before you could do any damage . with a leftover to regain a bit of HP every turn and horn leach wich is always good for a grass type with high ATK stat I think this guy swartzeneger nature is clear and the conan inside I'm want to go out
Soooo for those who didn't get it ... its a pure physical attacking set ... seriously even a goat would get it ... no offense barbarian goat cause you're a BADASS BARBARIAN !!!

Role: Mixed Sweeper

Gogoat @ Leftovers
Ability: Sap Sipper
EV Spread: 252 Atk / 252 Sp Atk / 4 Hp (or 4 Spd)
Nature: Brave
-Sunny Day
-Solar Beam

First, set up Sunny Day. Then go for one to two Growth's that give you +2Atk and +2SpAtk in the sun. Then use Earthquake and Solar Beam to own everything.

Alternatively, you could bring in something else that knows Sunny Day or has the ability Drought and replace the Sunny Day on Gogoat with Horn Leech to get some HP back.

I know you talk about Gogoat. But I'll show up a both Skiddo and Gogoat:
Skiddo: The bestest is:
Horn Leech (good in givin' demage and recover itself)
Leaf blade/Seed bomb (both are another great grass move attacks)
Rock slide (cover 4 out of 5 weakness, it's very useful to grass types that can learn)
Bulldose/Dig or Zen Headbutt: (How it's missing a weakness, poison, both 3 is good)

But the ground moves are also useful against steal types, but regarding poison and steal that floats, like weezing and bronzong , is not useful. Once the Zen Headbutt is useful to poison types that floats too, but not very effective against steal. So it's a chosen by the trainer. Could get both a ground and psychic move but givin' up on a 2th grass type move.

About Gogoat basically what changes is "evolving" bulldose or dig to Earthquake.
