The Pokemon doesn't have to be a certain weight to be caught by a Heavy Ball.

Here are some formulas below for HG and SS.

CatchValue = ((( 3 * Max HP - 2 * HP ) * ((Catch Rate - 30) * 1 ) / (3 * Max HP) ) * Status Modifier
CatchValue = ((( 3 * Max HP - 2 * HP ) * ((Catch Rate + 20) * 1 ) / (3 * Max HP) ) * Status Modifier
CatchValue = ((( 3 * Max HP - 2 * HP ) * ((Catch Rate + 30) * 1 ) / (3 * Max HP) ) * Status Modifier
CatchValue = ((( 3 * Max HP - 2 * HP ) * ((Catch Rate + 40) * 1 ) / (3 * Max HP) ) * Status Modifier

The first formula is for Pokemon less than 451.1lbs.
The second formula is for Pokemon over/equal to 451.1lbs and less than/equal to 677.3lbs.
The third formula is for Pokemon over/equal to 677.4lbs and less than/equal to 903lbs.
The final formula is for Pokemon over 903lbs.
