I may train a swellow with the flame orb to activate guts but I want to know if it will really make it strong to make up for that 85 attack stat. Facade, Aerial ace, Steel wing, U-turn

Guts raises the Attack stat by 50% while affected by the Burn, Paralysis, or Poison status ailments. The Attack drop from Burn does not occur. In Generation IV, the Attack stat is also raised by the Sleep status ailment, even self-induced sleep.

This is correct - the attack drop from the burn does not happen with Guts and you still get the 50% increase.
