I've been trying to find a good Dark type for my team in Pokemon LeafGreen. Is there any way to get a Dark type Pokemon in LeafGreen without trading? If so, please tell me where I can find it. Thank you!

***Actually, it is possible to obtain if traded from Ruby, Sapphire or Emerald or that Larvitar.*** Apart from the Larvitar as mentioned below or Mighteyana, Crawdunt and Sableye (which can only be obtained from RSE), an Umbreon can be obtained as well although it is a bit of a hassle. It requires two Gameboys and a copy of Emerald.

Step #1
Get the Eevee from Bill and go to the trading place in the Pokemon Center.

Step #2
Trade to Emerald because the clock feature exists there. Check the time max out happiness and level it up (make sure its night time). You now have an Umbreon.

Step #3
Trade it back to Leafgreen.

As to your question about whether Dark types ***EXIST*** in Leafgreen, no. It's only possible to obtain a Dark type through trading or as said in other answers, beat Blue then go to the Sevii islands to catch a Larvitar.

Hope I Helped!
-It's a secret!
He said without trading, which makes the answer No.
Oh ok.

No.

Since Leaf Green and Fire Red are remakes of Red and Blue, their capture lists are pretty much the same as those games. There were no Dark type Pokemon in Gen I, and so none in Red or Blue. As a result, Fire Red and Leaf Green have no Dark types available for capture until the post-game. So you will be unable to get one without trading with Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, at least until you beat the Elite 4. After that I'm, pretty sure you can get a Larvitar, and so a Tyranitar, but by that time you should definitely already have your 6 team members.

Even though Dark types were introduced in Generation II and Fire Red and Leaf Green were released in Generation III, they are remakes of Red and Green which was released in Generation I.

Dan, why the hell did you rewrite the entire answer?
Because it wasn't clearly explained, I understood what he meant, but he said that Dark types didn't exist at the time of Fire Red and Leaf Green which is untrue. They existed, there's just non available to capture due to Dark types being introduced in Gen II and Fire Red and Leaf Green being remakes of Gen I games. Despite how it looks though if you go on the edit history of this answer it will actually show you that I edited this completely, 2 minutes before MeloettaMelody posted. I just edited it again a couple of minutes later because of a typo, so I had no idea he was even going to post as had I known I wouldn't of even bothered to edit it :3
I started typing before you edited, which is why answered. Had I known you would edit, I wound't have answered :)
Yeah it's my fault sorry, as there's no way you could have possibly known I was going to edit.

There are dark types in Leaf Green. The most notable example is Sneasel, which can only be found in Leaf Green. You can also get your hands on a Tyranitar, though not until rather late in the game.

Sneasel is late in the game too. Icefall Cave is on Four Island which can only be accessed in the postgame.
I don't think this adds any relevant information not already in another answer.
It mentions Sneasel which no other answers do. Whether or not it comes before the Elite Four technically wasn’t part of the question, but it’s relevant.
