Lets say my Prinplup leveled up to 36, but then I lost the battle. Would it still evolve to an Empoleon?

Sam is wrong to lose a battle means all your pokemon had to faint and if the pokemon reaches the level it needs to evolve and faints it wont evolve.

Yes, you are correct Oshawott, l apologize for the false information, l misunderstood it for when the Pokemon faints, not losing the battle.
(Although it was 3 months ago!)
