Does maxing the play time do anything?

Every save file shows your play time for that file. You can keep playing until the play time reaches 999:59, which is the maximum. But does maxing the play time do anything. Does it lag the game, prevent saving the game, etc

also if this has been asked sorry I didn't know.

No it doesn't. If you reach the max time of 999:59, nothing happens. You can still play and save.

Source: I reached 999:59 on Omega Ruby and I've had no issues or problems saving/playing
