In X and Y, the music that can be chosen in online battles or in the in-game battle institutes are:

Music 1: Trainer Battle
Music 2: Wild Encounter
Music 3: Rival Battle
Music 4: Gym Leader Battle
Music 5: Gym Leader Remix (Successor Korrina Battle
Music 6: Team Flare Battle
Music 7: Lysandre Battle
Music 8: Legendary Battle
Music 9: Kanto Legendary Battle
Music 10: Elite Four
Music 11: Champion Battle

Music 1-4 is provided immediately, but as you start battling online more, you should eventually get access to Music 5-11.

EDIT (unfortunately I don't know everything): In ORAS, there are actually 23 different tracks to choose from!

ORAS is a little different, in that you start off with the first four tracks and when you hear the theme in the game (through the battles of the respective Pokemon), it will be available to be picked when you enter an online battle or the Battle Resort.

(Note: songs such as 'Trainer Battle', 'Wild Encounter', 'Rival Battle', 'Gym Leader Battle' and 'Elite Four Battle' are different depending on which set of games you're playing it on.)

Thanks, I kept wanting to use some of the battle themes (lugia, 18 reshiram zekrom and kyurem) but kept forgetting them.
