When can you remove your hat in S/M?

As in how far into the game must one go.

Everybody knows that good trainers wear hats. In order to remove your hat, you must throw away your Pokedex and suck at Pokemon battling.

You can remove your hat in Sun and Moon.

All you have to do is when you got to the clothe store,in clothes menu go to the hat section,then make sure you uncheck or press A button on the hat you are wearingVoilla your hat is removed.
