My Beedrill is level 50. It knows: Twineedle, Poison Jab, Giga Drain, Payback.

Poison Jab-STAB.

Tailwind-Gives him and his teammates a bit of a speed boost.

X-Scissor/U-turn-STAB; deals with psychic weakness

Brick Break-Cover rock weakness,

It's sad that he has access to a few things like toxic spikes, agility, Swords dance, and roost, but still can't use them very effectively.

It is a Very Good moveset for Beedrill, as it covers both of it's STAB and has a balance of a healing move. the only recommendation I have would be to replace twineedle with either X-Scissor (EV's in Atk) or U-Turn (It can be used for scouting while dealing a decent amount of damage)

Gen V

Beedrill (M) @ Focus Sash

Trait: Swarm

EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd

Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)

  • Acrobatics
  • Agility
  • X-Scissor
  • Poison Jab

Okay, first thing you do is use Agility. Your opponent is likely going to activate your Focus Sash. You now have a pretty powerful sweeper. X-Scissor will do good damage thanks to STAB and Swarm, as will Acrobatics thanks to a lack of an item once Focus Sash has been used. Poison Jab provides STAB also.

Beedrill (M) @ Focus Sash

alt text

Role: Lead

Trait: Swarm

EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd

Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)

  • Toxic Spikes
  • U-turn
  • Tailwind
  • Poison Jab

Faster than the more bulkish leads, although not faster than most sweepers.

His main role is to set up the ever so annoying toxic spikes.

And if he is some how still alive after 2 Toxic Spikes set up Tailwind, and then U-turn his butt out of there.

Poison Jab added for a little bit of Extra STAB in there.

Gen III

Beedrill (F) @ Lum Berry

Ability: Swarm

EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd

Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)

  • Swords Dance
  • Sludge Bomb - Physical
  • Twineedle - Physical
  • Brick Break - Physical

Sweeper, Nough said.

Swords Dance increases Attack, and then Sludge Bomb and Twineedle give STAB and Brick Break gives Coverage.

Double/Triple Battle

Beedrill (M) @ Focus Sash
description
Trait: Swarm
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Acrobatics
- Endeavor/Poison Jab
- U-turn
- Tailwind

I'm surprised that I have taken a liking to Beedrill, Single and Multi. This set is riskier in Multi Battle, as Focus Sash can easily be taken down if two oppponents choose to attack you. However, Beedrill's weakness makes it unlikely that they'll do so, being so unafraid of it. That is their downfall. You set up Tailwind, and now you have high Speed, and a decent attack boosted by Swarm and a nice Acrobatics boost. Acrobatics works great, being coverage with high power and being able to hit any foe in a Triple Battle. Endeavor can be used quite well, lowering a bulky foe down to 1 HP to be taken down by another teammate. Or you can use Poison Jab for STAB. U-Turn gets you a nice powerful hit thanks to STAB and Swarm. You get your weak Beedrill out of there, doing a nice chunk of damage in the process. This set has one advantage from being in a multi-battle that it wouldn't have in a single battle, and that is that priority is not as big a problem, as you can team Beedrill up with a Quick Guard user.

Doubles / Triples

Beedrill (M) @ Liechi Berry
Trait: Swarm
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- X-Scissor
- Substitute
- Acrobatics
- Poison Jab

If you have a team mate with Tailwind, that's useful.
Sub down to your Liechi Berry then hit what you can with Acrobatics and dual STAB.

What's that? Make a gimmicky set? Okay! :D

enter image description here

Image is slightly inappropriate, but very necessary.
Because this thing screws. ( If you're lucky.. )

Beedrillin you! @ Razor Claw ( If playing friends who won't know.. ) / Life Orb
Ability: Sniper
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 4 HP / 252 ATK / SPD

Focus Energy - Enter the gimmick. Increase your crit rate for Sniper

Twineedle -You get to attack twice meaning you get 2 chances for a crit.

Poison Jab - STAB and a more reliable fall back if you need one.

Brick Break - Cover up your age. ( Coverage )
