Persian is built like the common RPG Rogue: Fast, but weak in all other aspects. Take advantage of Persian's Speed to get the most out of your kitty cat.

Like Speed said, replace Facade. Facade doubles in power if the user is paralyzed, poisoned, or burned, but Persian has the ability Limber, which hinders Facade's performance. Replace it with Return or Slash.

Aerial Ace is great!

Replace Dark Pulse with Night Slash.

Replace Power Gem with Iron Tail.

Sorry for the quick run-through, but I was in a hurry. :P

EDIT: Most of my post agrees with Speed Freak, so I wrote mine because I feel that Speed doesn't deserve a -1 vote. Think of it as moral support, haha.

Yeah, but you explained about Slash, which I didn't want because I already got in Night Slash. However, Return is a much better option, as is Iron Tail. Speed doesn't deserve a -1, so I'll undo my vote and vote him up.

Yes but I would suggest ev training its attack and speed. Then

switch darkpulse with nightslash becuase of superior attack. And

maybe facade for slash.

Double/Triple battle

Persian (M) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Technician
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Water Pulse
- Round
- Icy Wind
- Switcheroo

Persian runs completely different in multi-battles. While it has a poor Special Attack stat, Technician and Specs helps make up for that. Water Pulse gets that Technician boost and can hit any foe in a Triple battle. Round gets STAB, Technician boosted, and gets more powerful if you have other Pokemon using it. This can make Round very powerful indeed. Icy Wind gets boosted by Technician and hits multiple foes, lowering their Speed. Switcheroo is for if you get tired of Specs or want to cripple something.

Gen V

Persian (M) @ Life Orb

Trait: Technician

EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd

Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)

  • Taunt
  • Bite
  • Aerial Ace
  • Fake Out

A great lead, especially in NU. Start with Technician+STAB+Life Orb boosted Fake Out, a neutral hit can usually halve the health of the opponent. Taunt prevents Entry Hazard setting, or any other non-attacking move your opponent might use. Aerial Ace and Bite get boosted by Technician. Standard sweeper EVs.

Persian (M) @ Bug Gem

Role: Annoying Piece of Crap

Trait: Technician

EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd

Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)

  • Aerial Ace
  • Fake Out
  • Faint Attack
  • U-turn

Well, here's the layout.

Start with STAB Fake-out with Technician Boost can pack quite a punch.

Then Continue to Sweep With Ariel Ace and Faint Attack, Or Go home with U-turn.

Bug Gem giving U-turn a boost like the technician moves.

Gen III

Persian (M) @ Choice Band

Ability: Limber

EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd

Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)

  • Shadow Ball
  • Body Slam
  • Mud-Slap
  • Iron Tail

Shadow Ball Covers the Ghosties mainly, but does a number on Psychics as well, and with Alakazam being a major threat, that's nice to have.

Body Slam is STAB with the Para-Chance, which makes it more worth while than Frustration or Return.

Mud Slap is generally a pain to fight agaisn't with Choice Band, making it do damage, with the speed to go first and use it several times, it hurts a decent amount, while lowering accuracy has a high chance.

Iron Tail is for high powered coverage, I would have different choices for this slot, but Persian doesn't have anything better in his movepool.
