Lol... do you want to ask 493 pokemon and its move set?
Hi trachy, thanks for populating PokeBase with some good questions. Can I ask you to:
(a) Not ask similar questions too quickly. These are good questions but the front page is now full of "is this a good moveset" questions, I'd prefer some variety if possible. :)
(b) When you do ask them, please can you include the pokemon name in the tags? For example I just changed this one to "moveset golduck". It just makes things easier for others to find questions.
Thanks for being a good member so far!
:) Sorry. I've been trying to ask the questions only when there has been to one asking questions for a time. I want to completely complete the game. That includes getting all my Pokemon to level 100. From now on though, I'll include names in tags and only ask one or two of these questions an hour if there have been no new questions.
Thanks for understanding. As long as half the questions are a variety and don't look the same, I'm happy :)

That is probably the best moveset for golduck unless it would be

possable to teach it mud bomb instead of dig becuase its special

attack is highier.

Your set up is great, but brick break or shadow claw would be nice instead of dig.

Gen V

Golduck (M) @ Expert Belt

Trait: Cloud Nine

EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd

Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)

  • Low Kick
  • Waterfall
  • Shadow Claw
  • Psych Up

Low Kick takes down Tyranitar and Abomasnow. Waterfall deals with Hippowdon and Ninetales. Shadow Claw is just there for type coverage, and Psych Up can make Golduck more formidable sometimes. Expert Belt helps you deal more damage to the instant weather Pokemon (except for Politoed, that Pokemon will be a bit more difficult, hopefully Shadow Claw gets a crit). Your EVs should allow you to outspeed them and then take them down.

Golduck (M) @ Life Orb

alt text

Role: Weather Patrol

Trait: Cloud Nine

EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd

Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)

  • Surf
  • Hidden Power [Fighting]
  • Psyshock
  • Hypnosis

Surf Taking down Hippowdon and Ninetails, and HP Fighting Taking Down T-tar and Abomasnow.

Very similar to Trachy's, only special with different coverage.

Psyshock for any Heft Special Defenders, and Hypnosis is just plain annoying.

Gen III

Golduck (M) @ Leftovers

Ability: Cloud Nine

EVs: 88 HP / 128 Def / 64 SAtk / 128 SDef / 100 Spd

Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)

  • Calm Mind
  • Ice Beam
  • Hydro Pump
  • Substitute

I'm gonna be quick with this one hopefully, as he's pretty self explanitory.

He can Use substitute, and get a decently beefy sub, He has Calm Mind to make him bulkier, and have higher Special Attack, which is a great thing to have.

He needs Hydro Pump to actually do something to most opponents, so we just have to ignore the lame accuracy, and Ice Beam is a high accuracy coverage move for Grass types, Flying types, and those annoying Dragons.

Double/Triple Battle

Golduck (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Cloud Nine
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Surf
- Soak
- Ice Beam/Blizzard
- Hidden Power [Electric]

There are better Water types out there, but Golduck gets Cloud Nine, so yeah... Surf is STAB and hits multiple Pokemon. HP Electric and Ice Beam are coverage. Blizzard can be used over Ice Beam due to more power and hitting multiple Pokemon. However, you won't be getting Hail to help out that accuacy, so you'll have to rely on Victini, Gravity, or 70% accuracy. Soak is used to help out Pokemon with a crippling x4 weakness.

I want to say that my Golduck is pretty even in Attack and Special Attack

Mixed Golduck

Ability: Cloud Nine

Nature: Adamant (+ Atk, - SpA) or Jolly (+ Spe, - SpA)

EVs: 126 Atk, 126 SpA, 252 Spe, and 4 SpD

Item: Wide Lens

  • Aqua Tail/Hydro Pump- high power, STAB, and works great with Hone Claws
  • Cross Chop- weird move for Golduck but it has high power, beats tough walls, and great with Hone Claws
  • Hone Claws- Increase power and accuracy of Aqua Tail and Cross Chop
  • Blizzard- the mix part of this set, its the surprise that no one will see coming; high power, deals with grass type weakness, takes down ground and flying types, and since your using hone claws anyway, blizzard will hit a lot of the time

Plus, since you have wide lens, you won't have to use hone claws that much

Okay, if you want this to be a decent set, screw having mixed, replace blizzard with Ice punch, Take the Ev's off of SpA and put them onto Atk.

Take off wide lens, because with One honeclaws, all of your moves have a guarenteed hit rate now, Chance it with Life orb for a decent sweeper.
