What is a good moveset for Vaporeon?

2 votes

Mine knows:

Muddy Water: Good damage, STAB, good chance to lower accuracy.

Ice Beam: Good power, high accuracy, chance to freeze, used to deal with Grass types.

Dig: Good damage, used to dodge attacks, high accuracy, used to deal with Electic types.

Aqua Ring: Used to heal Vaporeon. Makes Poison pretty much useless.

I do like Shadow Ball. My Vaporeon in XD had that. I'll take it.

Vaporeon (M) @ Leftovers

description

Role: Rain Tank

Trait: Hydration

EVs: 252 HP / 96 Def / 160 SDef

Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)

  • Rest
  • Muddy Water
  • Acid Armor
  • Shadow Ball

With Rain support

Tons of hp for a Hefty Leftovers boost, Rest takes you right back up to full with no Waiting in the Rain for a Hydration user,

Muddy Water gives you a chance at the ever so annoying Accuracy Decreaser, which can sometimes force a switch, while it still has good power, and Shadow ball gives good coverage, while Acid Armor builds your Defense stat to be as good as your Special defense, and then much much better.

Nature: Modest, Evs: 252 S.attack, 252 Hp, 4 S.def

Acid armour(Boost that bad defense and make yourself invincible)

Surf(STAB)

Ice beam(covers grass)

Baton pass/wish/aqua ring/shadow ball(share the def boost/healing for the wall, other healing option, coverage)

Vaporeon (Staller)

  • Calm nature (^Sp. Def -Atk)

    • 252 HP EVs / 100 Def EVs / 158 Sp. Atk EVs
    • 252 HP EVs / 200 Sp. Atk EVs / 58 Def EVs

  • Surf/Scald (Powerful STAB, and take advantage of its high Sp. Atk!)
  • Wish (If used properly, you can heal yourself as well as others!)
  • Protect (To actually stall, and even stall your way to healing yourself with Wish!)
  • Aqua Ring/Ice Beam (This depends on your type of team, and style of playing)

Gen V

Vaporeon (F) @ Leftovers

Trait: Water Absorb

EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef

Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)

  • Surf
  • Toxic
  • Ice Beam
  • Wish

The original bulky water. Use Toxic on the foe, then use Wish to stay alive and hit hard with STAB Surf and your Ice Beam type coverage to bring the foe down quicker. You have plenty of bulk, and nice Special Attack. Water Absorb allows you to heal back up by switching in on Water attacks, and Leftovers heals you.

Vaporeon (F) @ Leftovers

Trait: Water Absorb

EVs: 252 HP / 160 Def / 96 SAtk

Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)

  • Toxic
  • Roar/Aqua Ring
  • Surf
  • Wish

The idea is to Toxic something, Roar takes out another pokemon so you can use toxic again or aqua ring to stall 1 at the time, surf for some fresh STAB, Wish for healing when needed.

Why not try for Modest (+ SAtk - Atk) so you don't lower a potentially useful stat?
