Meta Battle Subway PokeBase - Pokemon Q&A

What is a good moveset for Furret?

3 votes

Mine holds a Razor Claw to make Cut more powerful. It knows:

Cut: This is the only Pokemon that I have that knows Cut. I am not getting rid of this move. It has saved me too many times.

Amnesia: Greatly increases Sp. Def.

Sucker Punch: Attacks first, good power, high accuracy.

Charm: Greatly lowers the foes Attack.

Furret (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Frisk
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Trick
- Cut
- U-turn
- Brick Break
What Gen set is that?

A mediocre Base 50 Power HM move has saved you? On MANY occasions? You must have one damn good Furret, hahaha.

I suppose if you really like an attack on it, I won't recommend a change. cough RETURN OR SLAM. *cough

Amnesia isn't necessary, but if you want to keep it, it won't be a bad thing. If you are looking to changing it, I would replace it with a coverage against Rock-types, like Dig, Brick Break, or Iron Tail.

Sucker Punch is a great idea on a Pokemon on Furret. Although in-game, it can take a bit of prediction, due to the random attack choices from typical trainers and their stupid AI. Still, it gives priority and coverage against Ghosts, so kudos!

Finally, Charm is a great idea on Furret. A sharp Attack reduction is extremely useful on these typical Field-bound Normal-types.

All in all, this is a pretty awesome moveset for Furret. It gives a combination of power and protection, which should be the strategy on every Normal-type Pokemon.

I'll replace Amnesia with Brick Break (I love this move.) My Furret is powerful, it beat the Elite 4 and Red without being defeated. Cut is such a powerful move on this little guy. For Sucker Punch, I only have it to fight my friends (AI, using Poison Gas after my Pokemon is already poisoned.)
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, that Poison Gas bit was hilarious! Mostly because it's true. Oh, Team Rocket, and their stupid Koffing!

Gen V

Furret (M) @ Choice Band

Trait: Frisk

EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd

Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)

  • Cut (or Return if this isn't a reminiscent moment)
  • Trick
  • Sucker Punch
  • Brick Break

Frisk your foe and see their item, that way you don't Trick yourself a Choice Specs or something when you trick your Band onto the foe. However, Furret also seems to be using an offensive EV spread, doesn't it? That is because if the item isn't to your liking, you go on the offensive. Cut/Return provides STAB. Cut is just there for me, because as my below story shows, I have fond memories. Return is for you other people. Sucker Punch provides priority, and Brick Break coverage.

Cut? Why?
Because I have incredibly fond memories of my Cut Furret, which has saved me countless of times. If you people want something else, go with Return.
Describe me/us the memories. I'm curious!
Everyone has that one move that's usually not very good compared to others, but we still like because it has saved us several times or is just a cool move. For me, it's flame wheel.
No, no, Flame Wheel is useful but Cut isn't so I'm extremely curious! For me, the attack must be Frenzy Plant (Venusaur in Battle Palace), Hyper Beam (my adaptability modest Porygon-Z) or Zap Cannon (from my memories, my Porygon-Z's chance of hitting with Zap Cannon were 85% without item or lock-on assist because I am very lucky)
Pretty much every fire move outclasses flame wheel now. only 60 power, physical (not that great on typhlosion) and a 10% chance to burn. Tons of fire moves are a better option, but it's still my move of choice on HG.
While I was training my (whatever the evolution of cyndaquil is named in English) I also had flame wheel. Also flame wheel is one of the not so many fire attacks that are physical without recoil or bad effects. That move was outclassed from Gen IV on I guess.
DT, Flame Wheel on Quilava/Typhlosion I assume?

Now for the best story of my Cut Furret, the one that truely engraved it into the legends. I was battling against one of my friends when they brought out their Ho-oh. Furret was my last Pokemon, and because I was using it for ingame, it had Cut. Now then, using just Cut, I managed to take down Ho-oh in just two hits (glad he used Toxic first, he must have been expecting Sucker Punch.) I know the same thing would have happened with Return, but I'm just like that.
Wait, did I make a pun through "engraved it into the legends". Cut on a legendary? Cut your initials on a tree? Cut? Yay!
thumbsup.gif, trachy!
I myself had a lot of legendary moments with my Porygon-Z and Magnezone's Zap Cannons 8D
Success! Less than 5 hours and then you changed cut!

FURRET --@-- FOCUS SASH or LIFE ORB

ability -- KEEN EYE
evs -- 252 ATK, 252 SPEED, 4 HP
ADAMANT nature

HONE CLAWS --- the set wouldn't work without it! =D
DYNAMIC PUNCH --- gets slightly better accuracy with hone claws
AQUA TAIL --- accuracy boost from hone claws
IRON TAIL --- accuracy boost from hone claws

i would use STAB but this thing has horrid stats, and neutral hits aren't very likely to KO just about... anything.

Hi, I'm new to this site. My favorite Pokemon is furret, and here is its moveset(sorry if this Pokemon has been...dismissed) Anywho, here it is:

Furret w/toxic orb (frisk)
-Trick
-Facade
-Sucker Punch
-Brick Break
EV's: Atk 252, HP 79, Spe 177

Basically, the aim of this set is to be poisoned(to power up facade), and then poision another Pokemon. Use frisk to check the opponents Pokemon item (see if there's a choice band to power it up even more.) Brick break and sucker punch are coverage moves that are good in various situations.

Again, I am new here and I am sorry that I am answering this a year after the last answer was posted

Hello Pink Furretz and welcome to the site! Thanks for your concern about "bumping up" a post. However, Moveset questions stay open forever, no need to worry about this particular post!
BTW, nice idea.

Furret (M) @ Life Orb

Role: Special Sweeper

Trait: Keen Eye

EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd

Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)

  • Ice Beam
  • Thunderbolt
  • Hyper Voice
  • Hidden Power [Flying]

Bolt Beam provides great coverage,
Hyper Voice Is nice STAB
And of Course, HP Flying is Super Effective on Fighting, Bug, And Grass. For Extra Super Effective Coverage.

Which of Course, Being Super effective, is what it takes for Furret to do damage.

tsk tsk 45 sp.atk that tops 207
As I always say, Life orb makes everything better.
Maybe not good, but still Better.
furret cant take a hit with life orb well thats a suicide sweeper then
Thats why he's called, a " Sweeper " Hyper Voice having 90 Base Power, along with STAB + Life Orb, Can OHKO in the NU Tier.

And a " Suicide Sweeper " is a sweeper that kills itself with Recoil moves such as Flare Blitz and Head Smash.

Double/Triple Battle

Furret (M) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Keen Eye
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Helping Hand
- Swagger
- Super Fang
- Follow Me/Cut

I'd just use Helping Hand to help out your team. Swagger is used with Own Tempo Pokemon. Super Fang can weaken a Pokemon for a finishing hit by an ally. Follow Me allows you to protect your teammates, having a useless Pokemon be taken down. Cut can also be used because it is awesome.

X/Y Moveset

Furret (F) @ Choice Band
Trait: Keen Eye
EVs: 6 HP / 252Atk / 252Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Sucker Punch: Helps Furret to contend with Ghost and Psychic types.
- Giga Impact: With a choice band it hits like a truck, often removes that big threat in one hit.
- Brick Break: Hit steel/rock/ice types hard particularly Steel and Rock who resist Normal type attacks.
- U-turn: Not essential really but since Furret lacks any Flying type moves U-turn lets Furret switch out. (If you run the Frisk Trait you could set Trick instead of U-turn)
