Pikachu is your starter, but you pick up other Pokemon pretty quickly. In the first level Beginner's Park, you can get Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott, Pansage, Pansear, Panpour and Victini!

yes.  when you start the game in beginner's park, you have a power 26 pikachu... for me anyways.

Pikachu would be your starter for it and you get a lot of Pokemon on the way. You also get very soon have fun!
