I would have to say that I think this breaks the rules as we are not supposed to ask movesets for particular sets such as that. I will ask Pokemaster what he thinks of it on the chat. But I think the last thing we need is everyone asking questions like this for every Pokemon.
I have asked a question like this for Seismitoad and some Experts like J98 were fine with it, I wasn't flagged.
it's because ferrothorn has sucky spatk
No It's not

Here Pokemaster says they should not be done. So they should not be done.
SF, Pokemaster told me that I could leave this question on chat.
OK I did not know that all I knew was that he did not want anymore.

Whoa, Special Ferrothorn gets Thunder? I want this thing on my next Rain team...

FerrothornSpecs Tank Ferrothorn

Ferrothorn (M) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 32 HP / 52 Def / 252 SAtk / 172 SDef
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Energy Ball
- Hidden Power [Flying]
- Thunderbolt
- Flash Cannon

Your EVs are for maxing out SAtk, while giving really good bulk. Energy Ball is you given STAB. HP Flying is coverage against Fighting types, and the ever common Infernape. Thunderbolt is for a lack of alternatives, and Flash Cannon is more STAB. Honestly, with the Specs, you'll have somewhere around 341 Special Attack, which isn't that great, but pretty good nonetheless.

For use in Rain only

BloodyHentai (Ferrothorn) (M) @ Life Orb

Trait: Iron Barbs

EVs: 136 HP / 252 SAtk / 120 SDef

Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)

  • Thunder
  • Hidden Power [Water]
  • Grass Knot
  • Leech Seed

Thunder is 100% Rain acc, and gives him Para-support.
HP Water gets that Rain boost, we have to face that fact that even with Life orb helping out your damage, he needs the highest power coverage he can get :/
Grass Knot comes in for STAB, where he can play strategy. Where a specially Bulky Swampert could actually take an Energy Ball from this thing, Grass Knot should give it more of a challenge."
Grass Knot is there for it's potential to give out more damage to heavier foes.
Leech Seed lets you not worry about Life Orb damage, and is taking a portion of your opponents Hp, what's not to be happy with here? While I don't really reccomend ever using this thing period.
It's still always an interesting case, and can pull a big surprise. PS: Sorry for using Leech Seed :P

You got the Thunder from me.
Is it me or do all ferro thorns get inappropriate names?
Usually they do, since they're just so evil looking!

Ferrothorn @ leftovers
trait: iron barbs
252 spatk ev's, 128 Hp ev's and 128 spdef ev's
Role: Special Tank

Flash cannon/ mirror shot
Energy ball
Thunderbolt
Ingrain/ hp water

Flash cannon is for power and accuracy, while mirror shot has a chance to lower the opponent's accuracy, energy ball gain STAB, thunderbolt is for types that resist grass & steel types. Ingrain is for added recovery while HP water covers fire weakness.
