Why can't a Conkeldurr be traded without a nickname?

I don't see anything wrong with Conkeldurr's name.

Also, what other Pokemon can't you trade without a nickname? (Cofagrigus)

Halcyonnic, what did you edit?

Due to the censor that prevents Pokémon with offensive nicknames being traded on the GTS, an English language Conkeldurr cannot be traded without a nickname in Pokémon Black and White. It's for the 'offensive' part of the name. Below is a list of pokemon I've found that also can't be traded without a nickname. I hope this helps!

  1. Co***rigus
  2. Conkeldurr
  3. Bulbasaur
  4. Ivysaur
  5. Venusaur
  6. Sharpedo
  7. Croconaw
  8. Nosepass
  9. Probopass
  10. Froslass
  11. Marshtomp
  12. Skuntank

( I edited the ones that I knew for sure, didn't do all of them. - J98 )

What is the part of Conkedurr's name that has the offensive name?
Maybe italicize the parts that are offensive. Like I did in the question.
(Nosepass)-because of the @$$ part of their name
(Probopass)-because of the @$$ part of their name
(Froslass)-because of the @$$ part of their name
How is "saur" an offensive word?
I used underline instead, looks a bit better than italics. And fixed up some of them that were wrong. Not sure about Croconaw... apparently "ROCO" stands for something rude but I don't think it's a common phrase so no idea why they would censor it. Also not sure why they would censor "saur"...
BTW you could go and test this by naming a pokemon "con" or "saur" and see if you are able to trade it.
OK I just tried this. The game actually prevents you from naming a Pokemon with just "***", "con" etc. But it doesn't stop you naming them something with that in, e.g. Cofagrigus. On the actual GTS, all of the names I tried were perfectly fine for GTS trade (conker, marshtomp, froslass).
I named my Purrloin "Fu*ker" + space, and it let me keep it.
I still don't understand how 'saur' is an offensive word or a swear word...
Apparently, sau is the german word for pig and it is said as an insult
Marshtomp?
"sht" is probably a shortened version of you know what. xD
sharPEDO! This is the funniest question ever!
