Does a burn effect our Pokemon stats?

i was confused to see the difference in damage when my haxorus attacked the opponent on the second turn when it got burnt it looks like the damage done on the second turn was lowered

Yes, a burn halves your Attack stat and you lose 1/8 of your HP each turn. Note, it doesn't change the Special Attack stat.
