How does Return work with PokeShift pokemon?

Their Happiness resets, and thus Returns power goes back down.

So I would have to regain they're happiness. Any quick way to get to its maximum? I'm about to send a 95 Tauros so I have a slight problem.

Soothe-bell, EV increasing Medicine, and Battling with it(no fainting though).

Their EVs reset as well or it's there to just comfort?
