What is a good moveset for Magnezone?

4 votes

Mine has the ability Magnet Pull. It knows:

Thunderbolt: Good power, high accuracy, STAB, chance to paralyze, type coverage.

Flash Cannon: Good power, high accuracy, STAB, chance to lower Sp. Def. Also deals with Rock types.

Substitute: Protects Magnezone.

Magnet Rise: Makes Magnezone immune to Ground type attacks.

Thunderbolt-good power, STAB

flashcannon-good stab power

toxic/hidden power [water]- he has offense and defense if you want toxic, hidden power can cover ground and fire weakness, for you, toxic.

magnet rise-covers ground weakness

by the way, how does it even learn toxic?

By TM of course. Or do you mean something else?
I knew by TM, I mean how can it physically learn it? I didn't know floating magnets were poisonous! nobody told me. :/
Well sure, if you eat them you'll probably get sick. Or maybe it shoots Poison out of its eyes. I mean, I've heard of people who can shoot milk out of their eyes, so...
For some reason, everything can learn toxic

Great, but you can always add in Light Screen, since he already has good defense. Heres what you might try for a couple Magnazone Strategys.

I like to call this one: toxic.
Start With Light Screen for raising special defense so he has incredible defense and sp. defense. Next, use Toxic. Then use Screech/Metal Sound(depending if your magnazone is physical or special, if phys, use screech, if spec., use metal sound for making easy sweeping) and finally, after toxic has weakened alt, finish with Thunderbolt or Flash Cannon, or Spark(whichever one you like!).

I call this one: Sweep
Start with Metal Sound. Then, add in Thunderbolt. Next, is Flash Cannon. Finally, put in magnet rise, for some defense.

Then Theres the one I call: Defense.
Start With Barrier. Now Magnazone has unlimtited defense. Next, add Toxic, and then Light Screen. Magnazone now has unlimited defenses and the opponet is Badly poisoned. Here, the last move is optional, Thunderbolt and Flash Cannon are popular here, but thunder Wave and Double Team are good too for more defense.

Whos getting best answer?
Your defense strategy does not have magnet rise. He needs that move or he will die from ground types.
You don't need thunder wave if it knows Toxic.
SPARK???
Magnezone specializes in Sp. Attack!
Its Attack is horrible!

Not sure about this, there could be a better nature. Also, many Fighting types also carry Earthquake, so they can hit you hard with a Fighting move, and there goes the Air Balloon, and you with it. But this still isn't worthy of a downvote.
Yeah why not Quiet nature? and Tri-attack is not very useful here why not magnet rise or reflect/Light-screen?
Yes, I'd use Reflect, as most Ground and Fighting moves are Physical.
People, flagging is for rule-breaking posts, not "I don't agree with this".
Magnezone already has amazing defenses magnet rise is redundant with air balloon tri attack is to abuse PO hax and neutral coverage

Yep, great on a 4 Drag 2 Mag team :)
Should Steel type use Sunny Day?
Well, fire types are going to kill it with or without the sun up so...
Read the name: Steel Lead Killer . Traps things like Skarm, Ferro, Scizor, and Forre and kills them. Ever seen one of those things carry a move to kill another Steel?
You have a bit much there with EVS

Magnezone Nature: Modest, Evs: 252 S.attack, 200 S.def, 56 def.

HP(Fire/water)(Depends if you want coverage over ground and fire or if you want to make use of magnet pull and a have super effective move on Bronzong and metagross)

T-bolt(STAB)

Magnet Rise(Deals with 4x weakness to ground)

Reflect(The reason you invested so little evs in defense+support for team mates)

You could switch the def and S.def evs around and give it light screen instead.

Magnezone Timid Nature, EVs 252 Speed, 252 HP, 4 Sp.Def, Item Leftovers, Ability Magnet Pull.

Substitute, hide behind this and set up.

Charge Beam, basically what this set depends on, damage while also rasing your special attack at the same time.

Flash Cannon, after you have enough special attack boost go with this.

Magnet Rise/Hidden Power Ground/Hidden Power Water, Covers his big weakness to Ground or Hidden Power Ground to cover everything Flash Cannon is not very effective against including fire weakness.
Hidden Power Water is also a very good option.

The idea here is to switch into a steel type and use substitute, and then power up special attack with charge Beam and then sweep with flash cannon. i find that ferrothorn is a very good pokemon to set up on.

Speed!? Really!? That's pointless! Its Speed is already too terrible, I could probably think of 100 more Pokemon who would STILL be faster than it without max Speed EVs. Maybe not 100, but a heck of a lot, that's for sure!
With those speed EVs though, you outspeed **Steel types** the pokemon that he's trapping with Magnet Pull, ya know. And after setting up Charge Beams, max speed will be useful to out speed other tanks etc. And slow sweepers.
