What is a good moveset for Gliscor?

5 votes

Mine has the ability Hyper Cutter. It knows:

Earthquake: No need to say anything.

Stone Edge: High power, good chance for critical hit, used to deal with Ice types. Also deals with Flying types.

Roost: Heals Gliscor.

Ice Fang: Decent power, decent accuracy, chance to freeze or cause flinching, type coverage. Deals with Dragon, Flying, Ground, and Grass types.

Hello There! DT has been falling behind lately hasnt he!

Physical Moveset: Earthquake(think about it!), Swords Dance(he has enough defense to set it up, and then destroy all in his path), Stone Edge(same as you), Optional. Iron Tail works, along with Ice Fang, Return, Brick Break, Poison Jab, Thunder Fang, Fire Fang, and X-Scizzor.

Staller: Toxic(hes a staller, what do you expect!), Roost(in case he needs it), Earthquake(in my opinion, even Stallers need at least one damage dealer), and Protect. Heres a strategy: First Use toxic, Then Alternate between eartquake and roost or protect.

Hope This Helps!:)

Earthquake: No need to say anything.

Stone edge: deals with ice types.

Thunder fang: deals with water types(second and last weakness)

Aerial ace: has to hit, STAB.

Roost will make you lose your flying type. You need a hurting flying move. Thunder fang will let you take out all of your weaknesses.
(watch out for groun/water types like wiscash and quagsire).

Remeber, ground types don't effect you, unless you use roost.
I think he meant that for Thunder Fang

Another Gen V:

I found this quite good:

Gliscor@Toxic Orb

200 HP, 56 Attack, 252 Speed

Nature: Jolly

-Fling: Poison The Opponet:)

-Acrobatics: Once You've Flung, Powerful STAB

-Earthquake: STAB

-Protect/Swords Dance/Ice Fang: Extra Healing+Poison Damage from Fling, Attack Boost, or More Coverage.

Hmm.. With hyper cutter it can be a perfect attack passer..

Gliscor@Yache berry/Salac Berry

Role:Baton passer

Nature:Jolly

EVs: Spd, Sp.Def, HP

  • Sword dance
  • Earthquake
  • Substitude/Fire fang
  • Batton pass

Strategy: Give him Yache berry if you are afraid of ice attacks. Salac berry for passing and a bit speed. In the first tur use substitude if you have pick it up or directly sword dance if you chosen fire fang for coverage. After you boosted with S-Dance pass it. I generally add Gliscor to my sandstorm team and I pass the atk to Garchomp. It makes it a real beast!

description
Item: Evolite
Ability: Immunity/Sand-veil
Nature: Careful
EVs: 252 Defense, 252 S.Defense, 6 Hp

Toxic
Stealth-rock/Rest/U-turn/Roost
Protect
Earthquake

The evil that is a Toxic staller. Toxic is for stalling as I said before. Stealth-rock is good for a lead but you can only have it if you use Sand-veil, Rest or Roost is if you really want a healing move but it is a bit risky while Roost requires sand-veil, U-turn can help you escape from Pokemon you can't stall. Protect is EVIL just EVIL, there are few things more annoying than the Toxic+Protect combo. Earthquake is for STAB and removes Steel types and Poison Types. This guy is VERY bulky with the evolite: 272 Hp, 376.5 S. Defense, and a HUGE 463.5 Defense stat.

4 hp evs not 6
It doesn't matter. Same amount of HP points.
It's a waste of time putting 6 hp evs, You won't gain anything from the extra 2.
You need the two for the girl in the city to confirm that you have maxed out your EVs. That is why I say 6 instead of 4.
What?.
Don't raise a fuss over this guys.
In the games, there's a Girl ( I believe it was a girl ) Who can tell you if you've maxed your ev's out or not, but if you've filled out only 508 ( Even though you've gotten all of your stats worth ) she won't confirm that you've maxed out your EV's.
Why not Roost?
I do have Roost as an option, it would be a definite one but it can not be there with Immunity

KO Gliscor
Ability: Poison Heal
Item: Toxic Orb
Nature: Adamant (+Atk, -SpA) or Jolly (+Spe, -SpA)
- Earthquake- STAB, high power, and kills multiple types
- Stone Edge- high power, defeats double ice weakness, and kills multiple types
- Swords Dance or Rock Polish/Ice Fang- boost your power or speed depending on which nature you chose or more type coverage, your choice
- X-Scissor- kills annoying psychics and darks
With all 4 attacking moves, Gliscor kills 13 out of 17 types. With Swords Dance or Rock Polish, Gliscor kills 10 types

Gliscor (M) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Stone Edge
- Power Trick
- Earthquake
- Swords Dance/ Rock polish / Facade

Power trick gliscor, fairly uncommon. Power trick gives it a nice 125 base attack, and a respectable base 95 defense, keeping its bulkiness. Earthquake is STAB, and stone edge is coverage. Swords dance / rock polish is for boosting, or Facade for neutral coverage.

Toxivol (Gliscor) (M) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 Atk / 200 Def / 58 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)

  • Swords Dance
  • Bulldoze
  • Brick Break
  • Aerial Ace

Swords Dance is for the +2 Attack, which Gliscor can't complain about.

Most will ask "Why Bulldoze when he has access to E-Quake??" I'm using it for the speed drop.
Scenario:

Turn 1:
Infernape used Acrobatics
Gliscor used Bulldoze (SE) (I moved Second)
Gliscor is healed with Poison Heal

Turn 2:
Gliscor used Bulldoze (I moved First)
Infernape fainted.
Gliscor is healed with Poison Heal

See, I was able to kill him before he got to attack a second time and got 2 straight Poison Heals (1/4 of my health). But if anything, I lowered it's Speed for my next Pokemon.

Aerial Ace is STAB, which is nice to have.
Brick Break is for screens and damage to Ice Types and certain Levitators (Probopass and Bronzong neutral for instance)

I doubt an infernape would stay in to a gliscor who usually carrys earthquake.
What i would change here is switch bulldoze for earthquake.
I know your strat is to lower speed but 1 earthquake does just under double damage that 2 bulldozes have which is basicly wasting your swords dance boost.
Also switch areal ace for ice fang.
Areal ace is low powered even with stab and covers very little where as ice fang covers most used dragons such as dragonite appearing on most teams.
Ice fang i would consider, i just don't like the 95% acc. I, like most, seem to have horrible luck with even that. I will try Earthquake for a trial run. Thanks for the info you wise son of a gun.
lol yeh i always have bad hax i missed 3 special rends out of 3 against hex in the tourney in the 2 battles, it has 95acc :L
