like say I have a Infernape with 300 attack. And I use close combat NO ITEMS close combat has 120 bp. so how much damage would this do?

This question cannot be properly answered. We would need these pieces of information:

• The Pokemon you are battling.
• EVs of both Pokemon.
• IVs of both Pokemon.
• Natures of both Pokemon.
• What item the opponent is holding. Something like Chople Berry could lower the damage.
• If you got a stat raise or drop beforehand.
• If a critical hit was landed.
