One at a time, and the Hackmons is going.
Mike passed last time his tourney was up, so he might not want to go again anyways. Someone should ask him next they see him.
We need to start a tour. Mike's in chat pretty often so I'll ask if he wants to do his tour this time round, or if we just go to the Mono-Smeargle tour.

I talked to Mike and Doc. We think Mew should host Mike's tour :3
In any case. We need to get a tour started. Heck I'll host it if no one else wants to.
Yeah who posts doesn't matter as long as they are active and are capable of hosting.
Tournament coming soon!

If you have an idea, then share it. But we really don't need seven people trying to have tournaments constantly. If you like an Idea, upvote. If you don't downvote.

Highest voted suggestions will go first. Only one 16 people tournament can be running at a time. This can change over the summer months, but all other months only one tournament at a time.
The mods and those guys will decide if you can host your own tourney.
If you aren't on often or there are other circumstances that would prevent you from being a good host, we'll leave it to the mod/editor/expert who would be the best fit to handle the tournament. You will still get recognition for it being your idea though.
If the tournament host does not update the tournament two days after the battle due dates for whatever round, then on the third day trachy will be put it charge of hosting the tournament in order to make it move.
Challonge match-ups cannot be used. You must have the match-ups written on the post. This way, if trachy has to take over he can easily make the transition.
No signing up for the tournament before it gets a meta question.

Team tournaments can only be done during the summer months. This way people will be able to be on more, and so will not let their team down as often or at all by not showing up.

If a tournament seems like it will be best held for a special occasion, it will be postponed until that occasion.

Have you ever found yourself thinking "Dang, I wish that [Pokemon name] had [Pokemon ability]? There's a tourney for that ya know :D

Regular OU, but you get to take the pokemon in your team and change their abilies. All of the moves, items, EVs, and etc would be completely legit, but you can make it's ability pretty much anything.

  • Regular OU bans (Smogon)
  • Once you've used an Ability on a pokemon, you can't use it on another once too. So once you've given your Jolteon Levitate, you can't have any other pokemon with Levitate.
  • Everything except for the Pokemon's ability must be 100% legit
  • Any pokemon that can legitamately obtain any of the banned abilities are allowed to have

Banned Abilities:
- Wonder Gaurd
- Speed Boost
- Multiscale
- Huge Power
- Pure Power
- Imposter
- Moxie
- Solid Rock
- Prankster
- Adaptability
- Contrary

Banned Pokemon:
- Archeops
- Regigigas
- Slaking
- Kyurem-B
- Moltres
- Volcarona

  • All rules negotiable

This would be fun because you'd never know what your opponent is running, and if everyone has the ability to be OP, no one does. I know there are quite a few abilities banned there and the tourney will be fun because 50% of it will be utter chaos, but I had to ban the really OP stuff so it wouldn't be a bunch of people getting swept by Moxie Slaking or Imposter Blissey or Contrary Latios w/Draco Meteor or some other OP crap like that. So are you gonna be the old stick-in-the-mud that uses legit abilities or do you wanna mix it up a little?

Darwin's theory

enter image description here
So this is an interesting idea.

So everyone makes a team of LC Pokemon. This team of LC Pokemon will be edited into your answer. The Pokemon must be in their first evolution and must be able to evolve twice. By this I mean a Pokemon such as Chimchar (or any starter) can be used as it can evolve twice using the same evolution path. Whereas a Pokemon like Scraggy cannot be used because it only evolves once following one evolution path (This means Pokemon like Eevee cannot be used as it can only follow one evolution path). Once everyone has edited their teams (not the sets just the Pokemon) in the fixtures will be decided (this is to avoid changing Pokemon between rounds/cheating). Once the fixtures are decided the team can not be edited. The first round is a battle using the LC Pokemon (lv 100). If you happen to move onto the second round then evolution shall occur. You evolve every member of your team once and move onto your next battle. If you have not already guessed round 3 (the final) will be a team of Pokemon in their fully evolved form.

So if my team is Chimchar, Turtwig, Piplup, Tepig, Bulbasaur and Totodile it will look like the following by the final; Infernape, Torterra, Empoleon, Emboar, Venasaur, Feraligter.

This means you really need to think about your team as it is constantly changing. Piplup may be a garbage Pokemon to use in the first round but in the final round you may think Empoleon is an excellent choice. Its not the case of choosing the best Pokemon in the first round if they are going to be impracticable in following rounds.

Hex's Haunted House

Welcome, brave souls, to my mansion. My friends and I have long awaited guest. As you may know, each October, I invite maybe 16 or 20 lucky persons to my... famed... house. I apologize in advance for my... friends. They don't take kindly to just anyone in the mansion; they have the tendency to test . But that shouldn't be a problem, I've already discussed the situation over with them. But where are my manners? Don't be scared. There is nothing to worry about. After all, we're going to have one heck of a time. Heh heh heh....

Meet my friends
Allow me to introduce to you your other host. They can be a bit annoying, but there just testing you. The truth is that there shy, and believe me, you won't even see the half of the time. (And I am not kidding about that one).

Gengar
Meet Gangsta. He's a bit shy, so you won't notice him until... it's too late.
Curse- Occurs randomly. That Pokemon now holds a Toxic Orb, Flame Orb, or Lagging Tail.

Sableye
My other friend, Itachi. He's a little slow to get to know, but it's certaintely worth your time.
Prank- Occurs when a Pokemon is the fastest of both the user's and the opponents party. The Pokemon that is unrivaled in Speed now exchanges it's current item for the Lagging Tail item.
*The effect is applied to the Pokemon with the highest Priority attack (and Speed).

Spiritomb
Madame Fantina, meet my guest. She's what one would call "short-tempered". Just don't get on her bad side.
Seal- Occurs if a move is used 4 times in a row. That move is now disabled in the next match.
*Moves that are effected by Encore and then used once more are still effected.
*Pivot moves such as U-turn, Baton Pass, and Volt Switch are counted by each time the Pokemon uses them when they come in.
-For example, a Genesect using the move U-turn 4 times in a row to switch is also penalized.

Dusknoir
Woah. Dusknoir. He's a solitary individual, (traveling to other worlds by himself and all).
Otherworld- Occurs when a single Pokemon KOes 5 or more Pokemon all by itself. That Pokemon is now unable to be used in the next match.

Chandelure
Chandler, Charm, Candy, Calcifer, and Kane are all five of out Chandelures. They provide us with lighting and heating, so I can already tell that you'll be great friends with them all.
Tag- Occurs if a player has won 3 Matches consecitevely. That competitor is incapable of switching Pokemon the next Match.
*Baton Pass, U-turn, Volt-Switch, and such moves are not applied.

Arceus-Ghost
The Guardian of the household. Dr. Seuss never lies. He also speaks in funny rhymes! I'll let you in on a little secret though: he sees everything.
Judgement- Occurs when a player rejects the rules or is caught cheating. Disqualification. Enough said.

*Now that you've met my friends, all show you to the Butler, Sebastion. He'll explain some house rules that you'll have to follow. If you need anything, just call for him.

Good evening. Welcome to Master Hex's house. As you may know, Hex and I are not your only company. Between you and I, your going to have one heck of a time. Our little friends around here tend to test, but their just doing there job. They want to make sure that they have only those who are Pokemon-friendly under the roof.
You and 15 to 19 other (16-20) others are invited to Hex's Haunted House, and will be forced to battle each other in the OU Tier by Hex's mischievous Ghost-type Pokemon. This is a Halloween Themed Tournament, and is also a dedication to our Champion, Hex.

  • The Tournament will be using Smogon's Tiers.

  • The Tournament will follow Smogon's Rules.

  • Each participant will follow the above conditions.

    • Failure to follow these conditions will lead to a DQ.
    • Each battle will be monitored to enforce these conditions.
  • Th above conditions are applied AFTER a Match.

How will you be able to do that stuff though? There is not way to randomly give a pokemon a Toxic Orb or a Lagging Tail in the middle of the battle.
The conditions are applied AFTER a battle is over.
ooohhhhhhhhhh
If you have any rejections or suggestions, state it early, before the Tournament begind.
Update: I have also forgot to add in Espeon and Umbreon. They are what makes this Tournament come alive. Here is what they do:

Umbreon: BLACK CAT- Occurs Randomly. The player will be asked a triva question about the DB or Pokemon Games/Anime. If True, the player then has the Ability "Synchronization", in which a condition that is applied to a character is applied to another player of their choice. So basically, you get to take down other people with you. :)

Espeon: MAGIC MIRROR- Occurs randomly. The target is given a token that can be used at any time. When used, a condition is reflected at another player of your choice. So you can purposely trigger a condition and screw someone else over.

UPDATE:

Haunter: DESTINY BOND- Occurs randomly. A Pokemon now has its levels decreased by .
OMG, Calcifer? Someone else knows Howl's Moving Castle!

The Collab tourney.

So somebody else suggested a team tourney, but not one quite like this. The idea here is that we have 32 people join the tourney, and each person gets to choose a partner. If we have too much toruble with this, partners will be randomly assigned. When everyone is partnered up, we will be left with 16 teams, and each team must build a team TOGETHER. One person can not sit back and have the other guy build a team for the 2 of them, they must actively build it together, the teams will then be put against each other, and they must use the teams that they made together. If we can't get enough people to join, it can be lowered to 16 participants and 8 teams.

  • OU
  • Teams must be actively built as a team
  • Team will battle by having each team member battling another team member, both using the team they made with their partner.

More rules if I think of them

The No Bans tourney.

Do whatever you want with your team.

Not Hackmons as in giving your team invalid moves andbanned combos such, just you can use banned combos, items, moves, Pokemon, etc.

No, just a nothing is banned tourney. Kyron, why would I do that? That ruins the whole point of it.
I kinda like the idea, but I don't really see it working. -1. There will be swift swimmers, Guilotine, Horn Claws etc
When everything is overpowered, nothing is overpowered. I like this idea and it gets my vote.
Exactly what trachy said.

Mixed Tier Tournament

Each person gets 13 points to spend on Pokemon.
-OU and BL are 4 points.
-UU and BL2 are 3 points.
-RU and BL3 are 2 points.
-NU and PU are 1 point.
-NFE (http://www.smogon.com/bw/tiers/nfe) and LC (http://www.smogon.com/bw/tiers/lc) are .5 points.

All other standard rules will apply, I will post them if and when we have a meta question for this tournament.

As you might notice, there are two mixed-tier tournament suggestions. The one that gets the most upvotes by the time it is chosen will be the one that is done. I will hide the other one. So vote for your favorite!

Nuzlocke Tournament!!!

Ok so basically here are the Rules:

  • Tier OU
  • 6 Pokemon
  • When a Pokemon faints in a battle you delete it from your team
  • The next time you battle you fight with your remaining Pokemon
  • The Winner is the Trainer who has the only Pokemon left
  • Basic Tournament Style (No Fancy Shizzle)
  • You must use the same team throughout the Tournament

Before and After each baatle you post your teams current status. If it goes ahead i'll make a post where everyone posts the team they're using.

Ok it's simple but effective and most importantly Fun

Oh, what fun. Time for a new idea.

The Gauntlet.

The Keepers:
1: Ben. (Likely OU)
2: Kyron. (LC or Monotype.)
3: Myself. (OU.)
4: Blob. (Ubers.)
5: Mew.
6: Hex.
The Guardian:
Trachy.

We have 6 users here who are very active and challenging. Plus a bonus. As many people as they want can join this.

  • You have to fight in chronological order.
  • All of these battles are whatever tier the respective Keepers want. I've listed some likely tiers you will see.
  • These will be individual battles for each Keeper up there.
  • If you lose, you restart it all.
  • If you manage to beat Hex, you have won. If you dare to take on the optional test, you get to fight trachy. If you beat him, you basically get bragging rights.
  • You have 1 "Emergency Potion" to use if you lose. You continue in a 2/3 for that person.

Basically a kind of League, but a lot simpler. Everyone can enjoy this easy.

answered Mar 17 by Ninja

The Trent's Tournament!!!

Taken from Trent's gym leader style. Here's how it will work. You are selected six random numbers, (randit feature) from 1-649. If it's a NU or Uber you are respun. You can get one new spin, but only for one Pokemon. Then do whatever you want with the Pokemon, EVs, nature, etc. It sounds like fun!

THE NO-STAB & DISADVANTAGE TOURNAMENT

Okay this is basically how it goes. This will be Standard OU. But there is a catch. All your Pokemon's move cant be STAB and they have to cover the Pokemon's weakness. (The no STAB is for the people who want to try bring dragons types and stuff) So your moveset should look something like this:
Starmie (M) BLAH
EVs: BLAH BLAH BLAH
Nature:BLAH
Moveset:Power Gem,Hidden Power(Ground),Thunder Wave, Ice Beam

In other words you can only have Status Moves and all attacking moves have to be super-effective against the type(s) you are weak too. Okay so now that I have more time here are the rules.

  • No Pokemon can have STAB moves
  • No Ubers
  • Sleep Clause, Species Clause, Item Clause
  • Two Pokemon must be from NU,Two from OU,and Two from RU

how about i just make it "No STAB" since you guys want to get smart :P

The grand Double Elimination UU tournament!

UU, but with some twists.

Rules:

The following Pokemon are banned at all times:

  • Pokemon from the following tiers are banned: Ubers, Overused, and Borderline.

  • Pokemon from tiers not mentioned above may be used. For a list, see here.

  • You may not have two Pokemon with the same Pokedex Number.

The following Moves are banned at all times:

  • You may not use moves that involve the lowering of Accuracy in any way, nor raising of Evasion.

  • You may not have the OHKO moves. (Fissure, Guillotine, Horn Drill, or Sheer Cold.)

The following Items are banned at all times:

  • Forgot our usual list of banned items, lol. You know what they are. Don't use them.

Other rules in place, they must be followed:

  • You may not put two of your opponent's Pokemon to sleep at the same time.

  • Moody is banned.

  • Shadow Tag + Entrainment is banned.

  • SmashPassing is banned.

  • If you try your luck with Mtronome, breaking one of the above rules is permitted only when using Metronome.

-Unreleased DW abilities are permitted.

  • This will be Double Elimination. Loser's Redemption returns!

This will be fun, for sure. Hope you guys like this.

And before you say we had one already I know that it was still fun

Are you tired of the standards of today battles. All the predictions, all the trolls, all the boost, all the items, all the Pokemon that can just be plain boring and weak in any team you build, and yes even all tiers.Who wants to rely on skill and predictions to win battles when you have luck on your side Well I invite you to come on down to the metronome tourney. Who needs predictions when you dont even know what move you will get. Lets see who the master of luck is.

Rules:

  • You can use the same Pokemon on the team 6 times if you really want too.
  • No beneficial natures meaning all your natures have to be neutral.(Hardy,Docile,Bashful,Quirky,Serious.)
  • You can have any EVs you want but not anything too ridiculous(over 252 in any stat)
  • There will be some Pokemon banned, ill put those in when the tournament starts
  • Species Clause and Item Clause is off, Sleep-Clause,Self-Ko is on.
  • Your pokemon must have Leppa Berry as their item NO EXCEPTIONS
  • Your Pokemon can have no other move than Metronome.

The NFL NU tourney!

Now, before I explain how the NFL ties in to this tourney I am going to have to explain how drafting in the NFL works for those of you who don't know.

The National Football League Draft is an annual event in which the National Football League (NFL) teams select eligible college football players and it is their most common source of player recruitment. The basic design of the draft is that each team is given a position in the drafting order in reverse order relative its record in the previous year—the last place gets positioned first. With this position, the team can either select a player or trade their position to another team for other positions, a player, or players, or any combination thereof. After each team had utilized its position in the drafting order, whether by trading it or selecting a player, a round would be complete. Certain aspects of the draft, including team positioning and the number of rounds in the draft, have seen revisions since its first creation in 1936, but the fundamental methodology has remained the same. The original rationale in creating the draft was to increase the competitive parity between the teams as the worst team would, idealistically, have chosen the best player available. - Wikipedia

So, basically we take the above system, tweak it a bit to fit a Pokemon tournament, and then we get our 16 participants, and the Pokemon in their teams will be drafted. The order of who gets to draft first will be randomized, and after the draft takes place, trades will be allowed. So whoever is first picks 1 Pokemon from NU that they wanna use, adn then the second person, and the third, and so on until everyone has their teams. After the draft participants will have a day or two to trade, example: participant #5 sees that participant #9 has drafted Duosion, so he offers participant #9 Vanilluxe for Duosion, particiapnt #9 could then accept, decline, or make a counter offer. It would be on PO and PS, 16 participants, NU because there are a lot of Pokemon in NU, and regular NU bans would apply. Also, if another opponent drafts a Pokemon first, you can not draft that Pokemon, so once a Pokemon is picked, the only way to get it would be to try and trade with the guy that picked it.

The Battle Subway
Seems fitting seen as our Rmt section is the Battle Subway ;)
Normal Battle Subway rules apply.
I dont know them all off heart but the main ones are all pokemon must be lv50 and only 3 pokemon (that are not on the ban list) which are differant species and are honot alowed to hold the same items.
The ban list consists of legenderies.
Though not all are banned.

Single Battle tournement consisting of 16 people with no tier (just a ban list).

Note:This is a tourney idea for when Smogon( the people whose tiers are normally used) has adjusted thier tiers to fit the theme of this tourney.

Welcome come one come all to the-

Sixth Generation Premiere Tourney.

Starters

This tourney is designed to let us see just what the new pokemon can do inside the metagame. It will be standard OU but with a catch. Your team must be made of entirely of pokemon introduced in the new Generation to come. Good Luck and Have Fun you will need it.

Note#2:More details to come as more of the new games are reveals and when the Pokemon have all been successfully placed into tiers. If things don't work out how i want them to i will change the rules to better fit the situation, so these rules arnt finalized, so no badgering me in the comments okay :P.

Note#3:Even if this tourney makes it to the top of the list it will not start until all the details have been worked out properly. Im just posting it now before i forget about my idea.

Why would you post this like 10 months in advance?
So i dont forget about it, its 7 months and why does it matter i already stated that this wasnt going to take place yet, plus what if someone else decided to post one i would lose my idea.
I do not think this should wait until Smogon has it's Tier's eatablished, we should be able to launch this Tournament into action as soon as the Gen. VI Dex is released so we could Test the waters. Then, it could function as a test period for our Tiers.
That could work but the problem is that not knowing what each pokemon can fully do can cause someone to pit a team of gen 6 pokemon that would in NU vs a team of 6 that would end up in OU. If everyone is fine with that then its fine by me to launch this as soon as the gen 6 pokemon are put into Showdown/PO.

...
