Right the rules are identical to the DB Chat Room. Breaking any of these rules will result in a mute so don't. Follow them.
No spamming (posting nonsense or posting the same thing over and over).
Don't use ALL CAPS.
Be civil to others.
Don't post personal information, such as names, addresses, emails or phone numbers. This is essentially a public chat room.
Being offensive or breaking rules will lead to temporary or permanent bans.
Staff
Similar to the database we have ranks. These ranks are assigned based on activity and contribution both on the server and on the database. So the current staff is made up of mainly Expert +. Though there are some exceptions of people that are very active and contribute highly to the server.
How do I get promoted from a regular user to Voice?
Being voiced marks you as a particularly good user. It grants you a position at the top of the userlist, the ability to talk in moderated chat, and shows that you are a respected and helpful chat member. While obeying the following will not guarantee you voice status, it's a good start and will certainly improve your image in the staff team's eyes.

As said people are promoted based on contribution and activity. So if you spend a lot of time on the server and make positive contributions to the chat you have a good chance of being promoted.
If you do deserve it you will not go unrewarded. An Admin or Leader will promote you to Voice (+). If you believe another user deserves a promotion then personal message an Admin or Leader with why you believe they should be promoted. If your argument is good enough then the user will be rewarded. Alternatively you can comment on this very thread.
What can staff do?
+ Voice - They can use ! commands such as !groups, and talk during moderated chat. Also can start and end tournaments.
% Driver - The above, and they can also mute users and un-mute users.
@ Moderator - The above, and they can ban users and check for alts.
& Leader - The above, and they can promote moderators and force ties. They can also force name changes and namelock users.
~ Administrator - They can do anything.

The Pokebase Ladder
Ok so i have spoke to Zarel and the ladder is now working. What is the ladder? I here you ask. Well its simple, its a ranking scheme for battles on the Server. If you win you gain points and if you lose you lose points.
To check your rating type /rating. Its that simple.
To view the ladder click the "Ladder" tab and to take part in a rated battle search for the Tier you want to battle in.

PokemonDB Server Forum
THIS IS AN IMPORTANT RULE. COPPPA IS ENFORCED. DO NOT REVEAL YOUR AGE IF UNDER 13 ON THE SERVER. BANS WILL BE ENFORCED.
Due to American law anyone under the age of 13 is not legally allowed on a website such as Showdown. This does not mean you cannot visit the server if that is the case. It just means if you are to reveal your age (no matter your country) we are forced to ban you until the day you hit 13. So if you are planning on using the server do not reveal your age unless you are 13 or over. This may be wise to remove any age on your database profile.
Reporting Users
If a user happens to be bugging you and will not leave you alone comment on here. If it is more serious and someone is posting inappropriate stuff or spamming answer on this page with what the user has done and screenshots. If you do not know how to screenshot there is a button called print screen on most computers which copy's the screen ready for you to paste it into paint or word. Alternatively many computers come with a sniping tool which is much easier and can be found in the start menu usually. To upload the images use hosting sites such as Imgur which is very quick and easy to use. If that is not possible do not worry just make sure the rest of the report is clear and to the point. Chances are other users will be on the server also at the time of the problem.
Any reports will be seen to by a member of staff. Do not feed the trolls.
