Did anyone ever try to hack this website? If so, who were then, why did they do it and how did you stop them?

I'm not entirely sure why this question is being downvoted. It's not like it's against the rules, it's just a curious question as to the site's history.

Additionally, I don't think the site has ever experienced an attempted hacking.
Yeah, why was this downvoted? It's a perfectly fine question, and suddenly I'm pretty curious as well.
Reminds me about the attack of the Stunfisk, years ago.
Ha. Went from -3 votes to +10.
I don't think there'd be much point.
I was at like -100 before
Everyone felt bad. :p
I don't get why it would be at -3, but I also don't get why it would be at +11. :v

As far as I know, no one has purposely targeted PokemonDb for hacking.

However, there are hundreds or even thousands of automated programs out there (spambots) that try to log into any website or server they can find on the internet. If you don't have good security they can try many passwords per second and over time they might guess the correct one. If they managed to log in they could potentially put anything on the site (i.e. hack it).

Luckily I have many security measures in place, such as spambots getting banned after a few failed login attempts. Two have already been banned this morning.
