Meta-PokéBase Q&A

Ok so before i did not really approve of this because i thought there was no reason for it and thought it didnt matter, but after what happened with gligurr, this proves that the expert position can be abused and that even though you manage to reach 6,000 points, which is actually really easy to get nowadays, you should not automatically gain the expert position. Also the expert position is overinflated and i could go on with many more reasons but you guys have heard them all already from posts such as this, so I'm gonna leave it as this. But this incident proves that experts should be handpicked just like mods and editors are.

Can I also make a point it could easily be worse next time. This time, we had Mike ban him very quickly and had alot of experts on to fix up the mess. If it was during a more isolated timezone, when most of our experts/editors/mods are asleep, it could be alot worse.
- Who has abused their Expert in the past? Gligurr and...?
 - Worthy, active people may lose their Expert status.
 - If someone is abusing their Expert powers, you can simply demote them, then re-promote them when they think they are worthy of the position.
 - 6,000 points still takes  a while to reach. It actually is, a bunch of people have took quite a while to get Expert status, and those who get it within two months still worked quite hard.
either way the position is overinflated and 6,000 points isnt what it used to be, just like money goes through inflation, so do points here.
- The point is that it could easily happen in the future
- Just keep the worthy people lol
- Only PM can demote and he's rarely on
- It's called a change of heart indi
Actually Mods can demote Experts.
^^ Thought so. And too many Experts is still okay, the more people with editing powers the better.
Honestly, I approve of this idea.
As long as Halcyonic Falcon remains as expert.
^ Although you didn't know him I agree
The more people with editing power is better.
How many of these experts actually use their powers properly and consistently? Like 5 or 6
I doubt it's at that number. Maybe not all 50, but it can't  be 5 or 6.
You, Me, Sempi, Terlor, ...?
Going through the users list...
- Meeee
- Scraf
- Sempi
- Terlor
- Fondant
- Aeternis
- $tarPower
- Meloetta
- Sir Dan
- Gligurr (BIGGEST OF ALL)

And likely more. That's 9+.
r00d Indigo ;-;

Oh wait, I'm not active, lol nvm :D :D :D
Indi, you rarely use yours.
The ones who actually use it to a respectable extent are;
Dan, Terlor, Scraf, Jack, Myself. Sometimes Fated Fathom. Star and Aeternis.

You look through the past 2-3 months edits. I can guarantee you, basically the first 5 I mentioned make up a good 80% of it.
Semp being the one who uses it least of course
:<
/me sulks
In reality though, Star uses her editing powers the most from what I've seen. Then with Sempai and Dan as well
And also the dude who used Spinarak in the NU ladder heheheheheh...
Star is the most active on RMT. On Pokebase the 5 I mentioned. On Meta, nobody
/me fleez
I thought that was behind us, Michael.
NawwwI it will never be behind us since you raged so much xD

> Failed to reach 1300 over 3 times
this again? I thought pokemaster answered it pretty definitively a couple of weeks ago. Oh, and yay, i made indigo's list  :P
Yeah, it won't happen and probably never will.
Indigo, if you actually used your Expert powers, weren't spam voted by buddyvoting you  might be in line for Editor.
Sempi. I'm a pretty active Meta-only expert ;~;?

Experts gain the ability to edit posts. IMO there is nothing wrong with having more people who can edit posts, as it should improve the overall quality of the site.

Part of PM's post here.

Really it answers your post too, because PM is stating that he has no problem with a large amount of Experts, whose job is to edit answers, questions and comments to better improve the quality of the site. Therefore PM is unlikely to take any measures soon to reduce the amount of Experts we currently have or will have in a hypothetical amount of time.

Editors on the other hand....

Dang, I understand Semp..

/me demotes Semp to reg on the site and server
we all know this was the first time that this has happened but like semp said, it can happen again and someone can do something much worse.
Oh please, when Ninja became mod we all knew we were screwed. :P
*Looks at Semp's comment*
Dude, that does like zero damage.
*Looks at Mike's ridiculous counter."
happy feet, womBO COMBO!, That aint falco' OOOOO HOOOOO HOH HO OHHOOOOOHHHHHO!!!!! WHERE ARE YOU AT?, WHERE ARE YOU AT?, WHERE ARE YOU AT? OH UHHH OH MAI GOD! OH WOMBO COMBOOO! OHHHHH OOOOOOH HOIH OIH GET YO ASS WOPED...
Someone with editing powers can do something worse like... edit posts? Between regular users who can edit their posts back to the original question/answer (edit history) and experts, editors and mods who can do the same, and a ban report page and how fast something like that would get caught, there's only so much "worse" it can get. Someone of Editor level would do something worse, but honestly, what kind of troll has that amount of patience?

trachy....
Entire argument trashed....
