Meta-PokéBase Q&A

I've already read the Rules, but I still have some questions

Where can I...

  1. Discuss a theory
  2. Discuss an episode
  3. Ask about "hopes" for next gen
  4. Share a theory
  5. Ask about "What do you want" questions. (example: What type do you want in Pokemon?)

I think that some of these things are useless for a Database, but kinda interesting at the same time. Maybe someday we're going to have a "Area" for this? Or do we have a Area for this? HELP ME PLEASE

Hey, for future reference make sure your question titles summarize the question itself; this makes things more clear. I've fixed it for you this time, but do keep it in mind :)
Ok, thanks for help anyways

You can't.

This is the key idea of PokeBase, which goes contradicts the intentions of threads like those you mentioned:

>PokeBase is not a traditional forum - questions should be answerable, not discussed endlessly. - rules page

Also in the rules page, you can find:

>No polls/opinion questions: Questions such as What is your favourite Pokemon? or Who is the best Water-type Pokemon are too open and vague to be useful. You can discuss things like that in Chat.

Based on this, questions/ posts that encourage open-ended discussion with no final answer are not allowed, because they don't well work with the Q&A platform. Discussing hopes or wishes for future games fits into a similar category: they're opinionated, so there is no right or wrong answer. In your example, I could suggest Light and another person could suggest Sound; both opinions are equally valid, which is the issue here. If there's no correct answer, the "question" can't be solved, and it ends up going on forever.

With that said though, Pokemaster has said that he intends to release a standard forum for the site in the future, which would work perfectly for these posts along with others like trade request threads and such. It's been a very long time since we've been updated on its progress, I couldn't tell you if it will be here any time soon.

For the time being, the best place on this website to discuss these things is the chat room.

First of all, it's great that you read the rules. Now, your answer to the question:

>Discuss a Theory

You can do this on chat, if people are willing to discuss. If you go in-depth and have a good question relating to said theory that makes sense, you can ask it on the Pokebase.

>Discuss a episode

You can do this on chat as well. However, if it's a question about an episode, once again, Pokebase is your answer.

>Ask about "hopes" for next gen

Once again, chat.

>Share a theory

Now this one you could discuss on chat, but also you can write it down on your profile for every viewer to read.

>Ask about "What do you want" questions.

This is a discussion; to be taken on chat.

Most of these can only be done on a forum-type platform, and this place isn't it. Your best bet for most of these is chat, but last time I was active on chat, people didn't really discuss Pokemon much. Enjoy the site, and don't worry - Pokemaster, the creator of this website, is working on developing a forum.

Couldn't you have just said that all of those things can be discussed in chat instead of addressing them individually?
