Pokémon Rate My Team

So as you all may know, UU got some new jewels in the tier, namely Meloetta ♥. And so far as I've been testing this team, this thing is pretty broken in the tier. The Sub CM set which I run can tank pretty much ANY special hits, baring crits. So then I paired it up with a Pokemon who is has phenomenal synergy with, Cobalion. I run a Mixed cobalion set, I've really started to take a liking to this Pokemon, it's super versatile. The other Pokemon I'm not too sure about are Roserade & I'm not too sure about the Kingdra set, I mainly put it here just to counter rain teams in UU if it becomes popular. So I call this core, Melbalion.

Cobalion @ Expert Belt

Trait: Justified
EVs: 230 Atk / 28 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature

  • Close Combat
  • Volt Switch
  • Hidden Power [Ice]
  • Stone Edge

Again, I've really taken a liking to this set, Expert Belt allows it to hit pretty hard. He's able to tank a fair amount of hits without investment too. He's got a nice double Volt Switch combo w/ raikou. This Pokemon has the perfect synergy w/ Meloetta, taking dark hits & getting the justified boosts, taking U-turns for meloetta then getting off a volt switch of his own. Most people like to thunder wave him, which kinda sucks, so I'm still contemplating if I need a heal bell'er, which brings me to my next Pokemon.

Roserade (F) @ Black Sludge

Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 64 SAtk / 192 Spd
Timid Nature

  • Spikes
  • Aromatherapy
  • Giga Drain
  • Hidden Power [Fire]

Basically I through this on the team for spikes & to take status, & heal status. No other particular reason, I'm sure there is a better way to do this, this set probably isn't the most effective, please fix it? I literally almost NEVER get to use this Pokemon.

Meloetta @ Leftovers

Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Calm Nature

  • Calm Mind
  • Psyshock
  • Substitute
  • Thunderbolt

Now this is the star of the show, no joke. She can tank so many special hits, and set up a sub then start calm minding away. The o lay sad thing is the lack of reliable recovery move, which isn't that much of a problem when I have enough calm minds up. Normally when I have a sub up & someone brings in a darmanitan I just sub again to see what they do, if it's u-turn, or flare blitz then act accordingly. Thunderbolt is pretty much great neutral coverage on almost all of UU, and psyshock is there for things like Snorlax or something. Almost forgot to mention that this things gets serene grace! Me gusta parahax.

Gligar (M) @ Eviolite

Trait: Immunity
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Atk
Impish Nature

  • Stealth Rock
  • Roost
  • Toxic
  • Earthquake

This is simple, I don't want to get smashed by Heracross & Darmanitan. Also can take hits for meloetta & meloetta can take hits for him. (Def core)

Kingdra @ Chesto Berry

Trait: Swift Swim
EVs: 168 HP / 168 Atk / 172 Spd
Adamant Nature

  • Rest
  • Dragon Dance
  • Outrage
  • Waterfall

Simple enough, rain counter. I'm not sure about the resto-chesto set. I'm willing to change it.

Raikou @ Choice Scarf

Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Rash Nature

  • Volt Switch
  • Aura Sphere
  • Extrasensory
  • Hidden Power [Ice]

Needed a scarfer, needed another special attacker, and raikou is just an overall threat that fit the circumstances, although I'm not 100% sold on the set. It still gets the momentum rolling on my side of the battle

Cobalion

Looks fine to me, although I'm not sure how well this set works in practice, I'd probably go with a Choice Band set.

Cobalion @ Choice Band
Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Lonely Nature
Close Combat
Iron Head
Stone Edge
Volt Switch

Roserade

Idk about this one, the set is weird & both your walls are weak to ice which means something like SD weavile can 6-0 your team with spikes support. If you want a nice spiker I'd go with qwilfish, intimidate softens the blows of physical attacks and his amazing defensive typing checks darmanitan and heracross nicely. He also got pain split from BW2 move tutors making him wall even harder.

Qwilfish @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
Impish Nature
Spikes
Waterfall
Haze
Pain Split

Meloetta

The set looks fine, although I'd probably go for Focus Blast > Thunderbolt sure you're walled by Psychics but at least you hit the more common, and more threatening Dark and Steel types for some damage, stuff like Slowbro can't do anything back to you once you're behind a sub. Also that EV spread is really stupid you're increasing your spdef already, and not taking advantage of that nice speed. Either go 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid, or just full on special attack EVs if you're going down the offensive route.

Gligar

Since your def core is switched around a bit with qwilfish over roserade I think it's safe to add a spdef zong here, can set up SR & poison things too as well as very impressive bulk on both sides. Qwilfish and Bronzong also cover each other very nicely.

Bronzong @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Sassy Nature
Stealth Rock
Gyro Ball
Earthquake
Toxic

Kingdra

It's okay I guess, from my experience the substitute + DD set works a lot better than resto chesto. You know the set, I know you've used it a lot ;]

Raikou

Not bad, I'd probably go Thunderbolt > Aura Sphere as it doesn't hit much except Snorlax and Porygon2 which Cobalion destroys. Gives you a strong STAB move to work with, as well as letting you run a Timid nature so you don't risk tieing with Scarf Mienshao & friends.
