PokeBase Meta Battle Subway - RMT

Come back, Genesect! :(

1 vote

Well, Genesect had to move to Ubers, so now that leaves a big hole in my team. It was pretty hard to replace it, but finally I chose Ferrothorn.

Politoed (M) @ Leftovers

Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Toxic
- Protect

Original Politoed that I always use. Ice Beam for coverage, Surf for STAB, Toxic and Protect for stall.

Jirachi @ Leftovers

Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 196 HP / 60 Def / 252 SAtk
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Water Pulse
- Calm Mind
- Thunder
- Wish

This Jirachi has saved me lots of times. If I can set up enough Calm Mind's, then you'd better watch out. Water Pulse / Thunder are a nice combo, hitting Dugtrios' and such. Wish for healing.

Toxicroak (M) @ Black Sludge

Trait: Dry Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Bulk Up
- Drain Punch
- Sucker Punch
- Substitute

Another Pokemon that would pwn is set up right. Once I got 4x Def and Atk and don't ask me how that battle went :D Sub is to avoid hax and other stuff, and Drain Punch and Sucker Punch are my moves.

Ferrothorn (F) @ Leftovers

Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Spikes
- Thunder Wave

Replacement for Genesect. Since I didn't have a hazard setter, I decided to go with Ferrothorn. It's been months since I last battled with one, so I'm not sure how this guy will turn out. Stealth Rock and Spikes are hazards, with Leech Seed and Thunder Wave crippling the opponenet.

Salamence (M) @ Choice Scarf

Trait: Moxie
EVs: 204 Atk / 52 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Outrage
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast

Usually out'speeds other dragons even if they have some DD's on. Scarf MoxieMence <3 Outrage and Dragon Claw are twin STAB moves, with Fire Blast for annoying Ferro's and Forretress. Earthquake is for coverage.

Ambipom (M) @ Life Orb

Trait: Technician
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Fake Out
- Double Hit
- U-turn
- Low Sweep

Gotta love the Fake Out. Fake Out does some surprising damage, even in OU. If Fake Out does 40% + damage then I can ususally KO the opponent with Double Hit next. Low Sweep is for a little coverage and U-Turn is for scouting.

Iron Head > Water Pulse on Jirachi.
Never! Genesect is never coming back >:)
>:( Never lose hope lol
When ambipomb is the only is the only pokemon left... Go, gengar! Ambipomb used "I'm screwed!"
ikr hope that nevers happens xD
U-Turn to death
Poor noob. Uses Ferrothorn to replace the best Scarfer that OU ever knew since Shaymin-S. Shame on you.
... and my genesect wasn't even scarfed...

I may not finish this answer tonight so i will finish in good time but either way away i go.

Nice team though there are a few things I'm not keen on with the team.
Your main weakness that is note worthy is that Bulk Up Breloom can wall your entire team and leave a massive dent in it for the most part.
You would not be hurt by maybe another special attacker as Salamance you may find may not fair well with the team in the future to come with the increase in use of Latios runnig a max speed scarf varient. Also as Rain increases in team style you will find Outrage becoming more and more frustrating to use, making set up bait.

Politoed
In theory a special defensive set is a good option but when put into battle it really isnt doing much apart from sponging electric moves a bit better and moves like flamethrower that you are already taking nothing from.
The main reason i would run Sdef Politoed is to counter the Oh so common Tornadus-T but the standard life orb varient is a 2hko just like it would be if you were running 0HP/0Sdef.
Politoed needs the bulk to take hits from Tyranitar, Sponge attacks from Gliscor, Volt Turn teams, Terrakion and Dragonite.
So i suggest standard Defensive set (you have Ferrothorn and Jirachi playing the special role wall anyway.)

Politoed (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Drizzle EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spd Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Ice Beam - Scald - Toxic - Protect

I also like to run 0 Atk Evs as it decreases the damage from confusion and screws with foul play users.

Jirachi
I like what your doing here but remember your doing nothing more than getting it to 1Hp, what Dugtrio doesnt run Focus Sash. This means your going to die so Water Pulse is not great and Iron head is needed to troll with Tyranitar as well as abuse the whole paraflinch thing. If your worried about Dugtrio just remember Dugtrio has pitfull defenses and an iron head will be doing about 60% minimum so another pokemon could easyly finish it off.
Sassy will be needed here.

Toxicroak
I much prefer Swords dance as an E-quake from Landorus is going to break the sub regardless of the amount of Bulk Ups and with out the needed Atk Sucker Punch will fail to deliver.

Ferrothorn
Ferro does not enjoy running 2 hazards so you could run rocks on Rachi and run the same set i Use that i got off Delko or you could keep running both like usual and get screwed over by Deoxys-D a must for all hyper offencive teams. Gyro Ball i just think may benefit you here screwing over pokemon like Cloyster.

Salamance
You have no real wall breaker on the team apart from Salamance but an Outrage is to easy to predict and can end up in you loosing Salamance. As said Breloom can play with your team and after numerous boosts in Def a Special wall breaker is needed.

Latios (M) @ Choice Scarf Trait: Levitate EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Psychic - Draco Meteor - Thunder - Surf

Outspeeds +2 adamant Dragonite as well as can easyly dent teams with Draco Meteor with the ability to switch out.

Ambipom
I hate this pokemon i think its crap but strangly it fits in with the team as you rely allot on hazards and passive damage which Ambipom effectivly does with Fake Out.
My probelms are the fact your runnin Adamant which lets Double dance Terrakion crush this pokemon as well as loose out in the speed tie to Starmie.
I would try out other pokemon personally though i don't have long and I'm tierd i will possibly add on this answer tomorrow but for tonight I'm done.
