Sand team idea: My first post

0 votes

This is a sand team idea i had. wanted to see what you guys think. Of course, i cant make it until i find my missing 3ds... RAGE... i tried to refrain from using the typical sand sweepers (lando and terrakion) I'm still pretty new at this. So please give me advice, especially on the evs.
hippowdon: leftovers
Ability: sand stream
Nature: careful
Item: leftovers
Evs: 200 hp 200 atk 108 sp def
Earthquake
Slack off
Stone edge
Stealth rock

Hippowdon is my sand summoning tank. I made specially bulky so he can take on most special attacks, but his natural physical bulk means he can take on physical attackers. He also takes out every fire type, useful considering my three fighting weaknesses. Stone edge also hits flying types, specifically the dragons and gyarados, for super effective damage on the switch

Lucario life orb
Ability: inner focus
Nature: timid
Item: life orb
Evs: 4 hp 252 sp atk 252 spd
Aura sphere
Dark pulse
Vacuum wave
Nasty plot

The special sweeper, lucario takes advantage of his awesome typing and dark fighting coverage. Pretty simple to understand: switch into something that can't handle it, and use nasty plot on the switch. Then
Proceed to sweep. Aura sphere is stab with handy accuracy, while dark pulse hits problem pokes like jellicent and genigar. Vacuum wave is priority.

Note: if I'm under item clause, life orb will go the scizor and lucario will be given an air balloon

Scizor leftovers
Ability: technician
Nature: adamant
Evs 104 hp 252 atk 52 def 100 sp def
Bullet punch
Bug bite
Swords dance
Brick break/roost

The other sweeper, scizor is bulkier, and hits on the physical side. Swords dance boosts. Bullet punch gets priority and a technician boost. Bug bite is stab, and brick break is coverage. I'm considering roost to gain greater bulk.
Garchomp choice scarf
Ability: rough skin
Nature: jolly
Evs: 4hp 252 atk 252 spd
Outrage
Earthquake
Fire fang
Dual chop

Now I know I've said hydreigon is best scarfed dragon, which it is, but garchomp has a handy immunity to sand storm, making him the better choice (no pun intended) in this case. Outrage gives it a powerful STAB to take out his fellow dragons, among whom he is the fastest not counting the choice scarf lati twins. Earthquake is more stab that provides awesome coverage, and fire fang hits ferrothorn and skarmory for super effective damage. Dual chop is useful for breaking substitutes, and its pretty accurate.

Starmie choice specs
Ability: natural cure
Nature: timid
Evs: 4 hp 252 sp atk 252 spd
Surf
Psyshock/ trick
Thunderbolt
Ice beam

This guy is pretty essential to the team. He sends fighting types, water types, ground types, fire types and dragon types to their death, which really helps out the rest of the team. He also provides strong special attacks with good coverage without boosting.

Roserade black sludge
Ability: natural cure
Nature: calm
Evs: 252 hp 152 def 104 sp def
Giga drain
Spikes
Rest
Hp fire/aromatherapy

Yes I said roserade. With resistances to water, fighting, electric and grass and a neutrality to ground, roserade is useful in handeling water types and grass types that can cause trouble. She also handles the swords of justice pretty well. Giga drain provides stab and recovery, while rest gives with natural cure gives it good healing ability. Spikes gives penalty for switch ins, and hp fire hits grass and steel types. In considering aromatherapy so it can be a cleric, but the team doesn't have too much status issues.

Well that's it. I'm open to all suggestions. Please feel free to criticize it. Tear it apart if you have to. I'm still new at this, so all feedback is welcome.

You can go to this website and battle without having to train anybody. You just go to a server, go to team builder, and then give all of the information for your team. I used to think you had to train everybody
Thanks. Does showdown work on a mobile device (I'm on the go a lot)

Try this~

Yout Scizor can do better as an deadly physical attacker.

Scizor- Choice Band
Trait- Technician
Evs- 252 Atk./ 4 Def./ 252 Speed/
Adamant
°Bullet Punch
°U-Turn
°Super Power
°Pursuit
An Banded, Adamant and Technician boost Bullet Punch can take many opponents like T-tar, Terrakion and so on.

Your Garchomp is alright but I rather replace him for Scarf Terrakion

Terrakion- Choice Scarf
Trait- Justified
Evs- 4 Hp/ 252 Atk./ 252 Speed/
Adamant
°Close Combat
°Stone Edge
°EQ
°X-Scissor
The best revenge killer and it even better under sand.

Your specs Starmie is meh.. it going to take damage under sand so rather give it leftovers with or give it life orb with the move recover.
You can also try out this guy~

Gastrodon- Leftovers
Trait- Storm Drain
Evs- 252 Hp/ 4 Def./ 252 SpD/
Careful/Calm
°Scald
°Earth Power/ Ice Beam
°Recover
°Toxic
Covers up your water weakness with that good ol ability storm drain.

Lucario is meh also.. try out Alakazam for better coverage

Alakazam- Life Orb/ Focus Sash
Trait- Magic Gaurd
Evs- 4 Hp/ 252 SpAtk./ 252 Speed/
Timid
°Pyschock
°Shadow Ball
°Focus Blast
°HpIce
Since this guy has magic guard it canget the life orb boost without taking any damage so as the sand.
Reuniclus is also an option too.

So I hope this new stuff helps you alot since sand teams are use alot nowadays.
