Intro

Hello there. So I have spent the last week making and testing this team on Pokemon Online. The teams now at the stage where I'm very happy with it. The current version of this team has won a good 90% of its battles with ease (though that's not saying much considering 50% of Ubers don't know their hands from their feet...). I had the idea for the team after reading a hail Ubers RMT on Smogon by PB a month or two ago. I felt Hail wasn't maybe such a bad idea in Ubers after all. So after many different team members and sets I came up with this team.

Residual damage

Residual damage is the idea of the team making those who before present a threat such as Genesect are rendered useless. Those who threaten my defensive trio are dealt with by my offensive trio. Thanks to Hail and Hazards attackers go down quickly allowing my offence to sweep later on.

I really enjoy using the team and I hope you like seen as this is not your generic team.

Team

Abomasnow @ Leftovers
Snow Warning | Calm | 248 HP / 8 SAtk / 252 SDef
Blizzard | Grass Knot | Leech Seed | Protect

I never would have imagined Abomasnow to be anything more than death fodder in Ubers let alone a top threat. It may have 117 weakness but it also happens to have a few nice resistances which can force switches. Forcing switches is great as it makes the opponent easier to read and it racks up the residual damage. Grass Knot slaughters Kyogre and Groudon whereas Blizzard is a nice stab which can be used to hit Pokemon like Ho-oH on the switch in if need be. That said Blizzard is rarely used over Grass Knot. I tend to Leech Seed on Switches rather than predict and double switch as it is more reliable and eats at the opponents health allowing me to get a good 30-40% of health off after a Protect with hail damage. Protect is great as it gives me a free turn of healing, more residual damage to the opponent and allows me to scout the opponents next move. Abomasnow is surprisingly the star of the show.

Groudon @ Choice Band
Drought | Adamant | 236 HP / 252 Atk / 20 Spd
Earthquake | Stone Edge | Dragon Claw | Fire Punch

Yeah I realize this is meant to be a Hail team but Groudon has a nice place on the team and Sun is not a weather I tend to keep up. Hex showed me this set a while back and boy it is good. I needed a powerful physical Pokemon capable of taking on Dialga but preferably with the ability to hit anything hard as it switches out, So Hex's Groudon set came to mind. This thing is a Bulldozer which can 2HKO practicably any Pokemon.

252+ Atk Choice Band Groudon Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Kyogre: 327-385 (80.94 - 95.29%) -- 56.25% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

252+ Atk Choice Band Groudon Dragon Claw vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Giratina: 204-240 (40.55 - 47.71%) -- 53.13% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and weather -Bulkiest thing in the game

The EVs are to maximize its power while maintaining as much bulk as possible. It also has some investment in Speed which helps it speed creep past all the over base 90s that run no speed such as Kyogre.

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Iron Barbs | Impish | 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SDef
Power Whip | Stealth Rock | Spikes | Leech Seed

Same old standard Ferro. This Ferro serves more of a purpose to the team then it would to other teams because of how important it is to have and keep hazards up. If this thing sets up then you may as well say gg. Power Whip is a nice stab which has nice coverage and helps wear down Arceus if it does try to set up. Leech seed is essential to set up whenever possible because I have lost my leftover healing to the hail. The hazards are pretty self explanatory.

Kyurem-W @ Choice Specs
Turboblaze | Timid | 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Blizzard | Draco Meteor | Focus Blast | Fusion Flare

This Pokemon is OP even for Ubers! In hail it has access to 100% accurate Sheer Cold, wait I mean Blizzard. It may as well be Sheer Cold to anything not resisting it though...
Draco OHKOs Deoxys-D, and nothing OHKOs Deoxys-D. 170 base SAtk with Choice Specs means something is going is going to die. Unfortunately Kyurem suffers a weakness to Stealth Rock which is essential on any Ubers team. This means removing Pokemon Like Forretress as soon as possible. Focus Miss is a stupid move. Timid is used over Modest because it means I can at least Speed tie with other Pokemon of similar speed such as Rayquaza but it also helps me rid of opposing Kyurem-W who prefer to run Modest for the extra power which isn't really needed.

enter image description here
Giratina @ Leftovers
Pressure | Impish | 240 HP / 252 Def / 16 Speed
Rest | Wil o Wisp | Roar | Sleep Talk

This thing is bulkier than Lugia. Sure it doesn't have Multiscale but it does have a HP stat which puts Lugia to shame. You know how bulky this is when it has even the smallest of chances to survive the strongest Outrage in the tier...

252+ Atk Choice Band Zekrom Outrage vs. 240 HP / 252+ Def Giratina: 458-540 (91.05 - 107.35%) -- 43.75% chance to OHKO

That aside Giratina is the biggest son of a peach to take down in Hail. It just doesn't die. When it does get close to feinting it Rests back up to its 9999999 HP stat. At this point you have lost a considerable amount of health to the residual damage from hazards, burn and hail.
Roar is very welcome on this team as it means Ho-oH is less of a problem to the team being able to wall it and blow it and its subs away. Roar also is nice phasing which again racks up the residual damage.

Ho-oh @ Choice Scarf
Regenerator | Jolly | 52 HP / 252 Atk / 204 Spd
Sacred Fire | Brave Bird | Sleep Talk | Earthquake

I needed a reliable scarfer capable of dishing nice damage to the opponent in both hail and sun. Ho-oh is essential to this team being able to catch the opponent off guard and sweep the weakened team. Sleep Talk means I can switch in on Darkrai and not be rendered useless which all my other Pokemon would be. Brave Bird will remove any Ho-oh from the game and Sacred Fire will usually hit everything else incredibly hard. This is where Sun can become useful to the team as I can not afford to Brave Bird over and over with hail in play because regen can only recover a certain amount. Earthquake is just general coverage. The EVs allow me to out speed 252+ Deoxys-A which is all I really need to out speed. Because of this I can invest in HP.
This Pokemon is great for late game and is honestly not the kind of bird you would like to be crapped on by.

There's the team. Suggestions are more than welcome and thanks for reading.

3 Stealth Rock weaknesses and no spinner. DX
Yeah that was one of my biggest problems when team building but when it came to testing it wasn't so much of a problem. Ho-oh has regen and Abomasnow can force a switch recovering two turns worth of lefties with Protect. Though a spinner is nice and essential for hail teams this team functions well without one surprisingly.
Any opposing team that sets up rocks and can phase you means bye bye Ho-oh, even with regen, it's not surviving very long. Giratina isn't going to be taking any massive damage from it as well, so something to take care of that would help is Abomasnow is down.
Ho-oh tend to be the late game sweeper who will come in towards the end so switching it in and out is unnecessary unless I am switching it in on a Ferrothorn before it does set up rocks.
You're missing quite a few EV's on Groudon, 100 I think ;]
oops stupid typo :L Disadvatnage of typing it all out like this ugh
I think the thing about Ho-Oh is that it's scarfed. It therefore has to take 50% damage on every stealth rock switch in and with no roost, it'd be really easy to KO.

Additionally, Brave Bird recoil = self KO. :(
I see your point but as mentioned its a late game sweeper and the recoil will be at minimum thanks to opposing low HP. I know it would be beneficial to run a spinner but fitting in a spinner is hard with Ferrothorn being able to resist water well + got solid defences in both areas. Excadril wouldn't work over Groudon as the sun can be helpful as it helps relieve some pressure off my team especially towards late game where Ho-oh can appreciate the sun boost allowing it to ko almost anything.
