PokeBase Meta Battle Subway - RMT

New OU sand team!! Please help and rate!!

0 votes

I had time to actually ladder this team. Although it didn't do
anything special, getting 25 + wins with a team I made in 10 minutes
and have tested for about 2 hours isn't bad for me. So I wanted to
know what improvements could be made to make it truly outstanding.
Please, nothing is too far out! Let your imaginations go wild! Roam
free! And please! Rate! My! Team!

****Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Stone Edge
- Pursuit
- Crunch
- Stealth Rock**

This one is my Tyran of absolute choice. I have studied other peoples RMT's, and the most reasonable support version I could find was smogon's support set. So I took it! Setting SR is important to this team, so I left it to the one that can defend itself if need be. pursuit helps this team by stopping opponents switching freely, along with the hazards.

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 184 Def / 252 HP / 72 Spd
Impish Nature
- Toxic
- Taunt
- Protect
- Earthquake

Fight types annoy me these days, but I know of a solution! Gliscors massive defense and range of support moves, as well as the fantastic ability in Toxic heal, makes it very hard to beat. By using toxic on the foe, it can chip away at their HP with sand and Toxic and hazards. All the while restoring it's own health. It then can finish off weakened foes with decently powered earthquake. any walls that can't outspeed will find themselves on the wrong end of a taunt.

Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 232 HP / 56 SAtk / 220 Spd
Modest Nature
- Volt Switch
- Will-O-Wisp
- Hydro Pump
- Pain Split

I just threw this guys in for no particular reason other than it's baws in so many ways. Also, it can perform in rain or sand, allowing some good defensive and offensive prowess.

Stoutland @ Choice Band
Trait: Sand Rush
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Crunch
- Superpower
- Return
- Pursuit

I have sweeped so many teams with this beast of sand. anything not carrying ghost, rock or steel typing will get 2HKOed or OHKOed very quickly. That 160 BS speed in sand outruns many scafers, and many other even outside of sand if need be.Nothing is safe..not from this beast.

Gastrodon @ Leftovers
Trait: Storm Drain
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Toxic
- Recover
- Clear Smog

This is the Bane of any set up sweeper, and continues the stall theme with Toxic and recover. Anything that cannot be poisoned will not like scald very much, and smog will stop any non-steel type set up sweeper.

Skarmory @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 232 Def / 252 HP / 24 Spd
Impish Nature
- Spikes
- Roost
- Whirlwind
- Brave Bird

As I said, hazards are important to this team. And spikes included. By first setting up spikes, it then racks up major damage with whirlwind, sand and any burns or Toxic they might of picked up along the way. Before finding a weak opponent to finish off with Brave bird, or using the opportunity to Roost up.

Notices: I appear to have some trouble with Conkeldurr. The only two that can wall it are Gliscor and Skar, as Gastro takes heavy damage from drain punch. I can avoid it with skarm but after that there is no way to beat it if it carries Ice punch for Gli. I could burn it but Guts sets make it very risky. Any ideas?

Also, although uncommon, Grass types like Breloom and Celebi can KO 2-3 team members before hassling the rest of the team for the remainder of the match. I don't know what I can use to beat them really, any ideas?

Thanks so much guys!

(also, if it isn't too much hassle, some sprites would be nice. Though it isn't important, I'm just lazy xD.)

So off the bat I notice 2 things, on ebeing that it's somewhat standard but sturdy looking and the second being that you're using Stoutland which pretty much grants you entry into the fields of Ben, a mythical plain with golden grass that is only open to those who I hold in high esteem :D

Tyranitar - Your set isn't bad but without any offensive investment I don't like to run any STABs other than Pursuit, with the other 2 moves being Ice Beam and Fire Blast which get great coverage and with the amount of CB Tars in OU these days Fire Blast and Ice Beam are rather unexpected. DO what you want with those last 4 EVs it doesn't really matter.

Gliscor - GLiscor looks good here but you might wanna think about running Roost or Protect > Taunt for the absurd longetivity that Gliscor is gifted with. Just my preference, but I usually run that same set with Sub over Taunt and personally I love it but there is nothing wrong with the set and if it works keep it by all means.

Rotom-W - I love this guy and bulky Will-O-Wisp + Pain Split is very annoying and while he synergizes fairly well I am going to have to give him the boot for something that can take on Fighting types.

Gengar @ Black Sludge
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 HP / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Substitute
- Disable
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast

If there was ever a pokemon to screw with fighting types it was SubDisable Gengar :D
The only problem I see with adding Gengar is that you then become somewhat weak to water type moves once Gastro is dead, so make sure to keep Gastro alive, or don't add Gengar at all.

Gastrodon - No suggestions, but don't count out Unaware Quagsire, who I would suggest to you if Gastro didn't have Storm Drain, which your team needs.

Skarmory - Also good. Don't change it.

OK then master Ben! Thanks! I don't really want to change tyran but I'll give it ago. and I'll replace Rotom for Gengar soon. I prefer my Gliscor, and I thought if you carried poison heal you couldn't have roost? And i have protect anyway.
Hmm, actually I'm thinking you're right. Roost is illegal with Poison heal, but Sub isn't :D
Other purpose for Gengar: Spinblocker :P
I though roost+poison heal was legal cause the b/w 2 move tutors teach roost (unless there's like some ban or clause I'm forgetting)
It is illegal Brotad, i tested it recently.
