2 hax losses in addition to the record.
Peaked #59 on ladder:
The above Replay was actually the first battle of the team and I made a huge mistake late-game that very nearly cost me the game, but Glaceon wasn't about to let the team start off with a losing record because of my mistake.
I know Replay 2 was kind of haxy as my opponent kept missing that Will-O but this replay is what happens in an ideal situation. Despite the battle ending due to a ragequit on turn 11, the replay is a few minutes long what with all the stalling and I was laughing hysterically the whole time.
Welcome my pretties, to my first RMT for Smogon Doubles (And also my first RMT as Swaggron for quite a long time). It's quite a fun tier, and it especially helps when you have MrK to assist you in making your team. Originally I intended to keep this a secret a bit longer but I can't challenge the league so I don't really need it to be unknown anymore. As the title says, the team is a stall team, and a hail stall team at that. Stealth Rock is pretty uncommon in Doubles, and the presence of Hitmontop
discourages its use, even though I don't run Rapid Spin on it (My opponent doesn't know that tho). If I have any problem it would be my lack of a fast sweeper, as sometimes I need to revenge some stuff and can't, but otherwise it has no blatant weaknesses.
Abomasnow @ Leftovers
Trait: Snow Warning
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef / 4 SAtk
- Leech Seed
Most people tend to write Abomasnow off as harmless when they first see it. A few turns later when it's behind a sub and both of their pokemon are taking Leech Seed AND Hail damage, while Abomasnow is trolling with Protect and recovering more HP than it can use, they tend to get a little annoyed. Abomasnow is pretty bulky, and while he can't always get 2 Leech Seeds AND a Sub all at the same time, he's still a tough cookie to take down, regardless of his awful typing.
Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 Spd
Gliscor is the go-to physical wall, and the second Pokemon on the team that abuses SubProtect stalling. Picture the scenario described in Abomasnow's description and then add some Toxic poison in the mix. More often than not Gliscor (And Abomasnow for that matter) don't even have to attack, just laugh as their opponents are steadily eaten away by residual damage. Earthquake might seem like a good way to shoot myself in the foot but I have teammates rocking Protect and only Tranny (Who has Protect, I might add) doesn't like taking the occasional friendly EQ.
Heatran @ Shuca Berry
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef / 4 SAtk
- Lava Plume
- Magma Storm
- Earth Power
The team's special wall, here to add to the chaos with Magma Storm! Not only does Magma Storm hit decently hard and trap targets, it adds EVEN MORE RESIDUAL DAMAGE. Protect scouts and stuff, Lava Plume is for burning and hitting both opponents (And my other Pokemon Dx) and Earth Power is coverage again mainly Chandelure and Heatran. Shuca Berry helps him take an Earthquake from something, which not only helps a ton but also gives the team the ability to play in VGC Doubles, as it doesn't infract upon the item clasue as Lefties would.
Jellicent @ Sitrus Berry
*Trait: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 208 Def / 48 Spd
Jellicent completes my Fire/Water/Grass core and is so bulky it isn't fair. Scald is STAB and has a juicy burn chance, while Recover is for Recovery (DERP) and Taunt works to screw opposing walls. Blizzard abuses Hail nicely and gets decent coverage. Sitrus Berry doesn't mess with the item clause as Lefties would and provides decent recovery, which is really annoying when you whittle it down only to have it pop back up to around 50% HP.
Hitmontop @ Fighting Gem
EVs: 252 HP / 16 Atk / 84 Def / 156 SDef
- Close Combat
- Fake Out
This one was completely MrK, and provides a Rock resist, an additional poison spreader, and overall a bulky attacker and pivot. Fake Out makes it's target flinch, meaning it doesn't move that turn, often giving Abomasnow a chance at a free Sub. Abomasnow and Hitmontop are my usual leads, and Suckerpunch is good for revenge killing. Fight Gem boosted Close Combat hits like a choo-choo. Did I mention that Hitmontop is a bulky little sucker?
Glaceon @ Choice Specs
Trait: Ice Body
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 Def
- Icy Wind
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Fire]
Base 130 SAtk, for hammering stuff with STAB Blizzard. Base 110 Def for tanking. GG bro.
