Why hello thanks for checking out my brand new entry an old UU team. I quite like it and all of its members, but I am open to all suggestions.

Team Preview:
Virizion Meloetta Froslass
Blastoise Houndoom Flygon

Synergy check: The pokemon’s weaknesses are listed, with the pokemon who resist said weaknesses in adjacent parentheses.

Virizion: flying (none), fire (Blastiose, Flygon, Houndoom), ice (Blastiose, Houndoom, Froslass), poison (Flygon, Froslass), psychic (Houndoom, Meloetta)

Houndoom: water (Virizion, Blastiose), rock (Virizion, Flygon), ground (Virizion, Flygon), fighting (Froslass)

Blastiose: electric (Flygon, Virizion), grass (Virizion, Houndoom)

Froslass: dark (Virizion, Houndoom) ghost (Houndoom, Meloetta), rock (Flygon, Meloetta), fire (Blastiose, Flygon, Houndoom), steel (Blastiose, Houndoom)

Meloetta: dark (Virizion*, Houndoom), bug (Froslass)

Flygon: ice (Froslass, Houndoom, Blastiose), dragon (none*)

Although both the flying and dragon type goes unresisted, Blastoise can tank the majority of the former, while flygon can outspeed and remove the majority of the latter. Virizion will have it’s attack boosted when switching into a dark type move, and Houndoom will have its Fire Blast boosted when hit with a fire type move.

Now on to the team itself

Deep within the great gales cold
As your elders once foretold
A sullen spirit waits to strike
Paralysis upon her foes
Fortified with sharpened spikes
Forever tied to the snow

Froslass

Froslass (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Cursed Body
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Spd / 8 SDef
Timid Nature
- Spikes
- Thunder Wave
- Ice Beam
- Destiny Bond

The usual lead set. Apparently Smogon believes the UU tier can’t handle this, despite the existence of walls to out stall it, sweepers to set up on it, and faster offensive threats to dispose of it. At any rate, the ghost is a keystone, the sole provider of highly appreciated hazards, useful paralysis support, and can always take something down if played right, typically a poorly chosen Arcanine or Victini or another slower, offensive pokemon along those lines, thanks to a speedy destiny bond.

Ancient song and forgotten dance
Enemies do not stand a chance
For when she stands behind her ruse
Opponents are destined to loose

Meloetta

Meloetta @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 172 HP / 104 Spd / 232 SAtk
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Substitute
- Psychic
- Thunderbolt

Now before you say anything I am aware this is completely walled by Krookodile, but Krookodile is a rare sight, can be easily walled by Blastoise, and it is ideal set up bait for Virizion. Behind a substitute, Meloetta can dispose of Heracross, Sharpedo, and multiple typical threats to its existence. It may set up Calm Mind as it desires from the security of a feigned copy, and proceed to sweep. Focus Blast is far less reliable and useful in my opinion, as among other reasons it leave Meloetta walled by the common sableye,

Where rock monsters and swamp beasts roam
A graceful legend finds its home
Where none can neither dream nor hope
Of beating this grass antelope

Virizion

Virizion @ Lum Berry
Trait: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 Atk
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Leaf Blade
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge

The physical sweeper and star of the team, Virizion’s great speed and decent power make it a worthy foe. After setup, truly only Crobat and Gligar can withstand it’s barrage, with superior speed and defensive strength respectively, and the most prominent walls in UU, most notably Umbreon, Registeel and the Bulky waters, fall to its swordplay. Lum berry ensures that the deceitful tactics of poison and paralysis won’t hinder the graceful sweep.

From ancient searing blinding sands
A single floating insect stands
Though measly the dragon is in build
Its pure speed leaves opponents kiiled

Flygon

Flygon (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Outrage
- Stone Edge
- U-turn
- Earthquake

The standard scarf set, with stone edge over fire punch for several reasons. First of all, Bronzong, although not rare, is not extremely common. Second, a way to ensure the death of threats like Scarf Darmanitan and Crobat is needed without the hassle of being locked into outrage. Flygon serves as a great revenge killer in my opinon, as the lack of hazard issues makes switching much easier.

The thing has cannons on its back, and that’s all I’m going to say

Blastoise

Blastoise (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Rapid Spin
- Roar
- Toxic

Defensive wall blastoise, making the hazards go away, phasing out opponents and poisoning walls all in a package of nostalgia. It serves the crucial role of stomaching the powerful physical attacks of uu this team despises from the Brave Birds of Crobat to the Hi Jump Kicks of Mienshao. Roar is used over dragon tail as substitute, as far as I have seen, is more common, and more threatening, than taunt.

You can’t run and you can’t hide.
Pursuit leaves your attempts denied.
Water ground and rock will fall to Grass,
The rest to a scorching Fire Blast,
And Sucker Punch removes the fast.

Houndoom

Houndoom (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature
- Fire Blast
- Pursuit
- Sucker Punch
- Hidden Power [Grass]

Mission: the destruction of all Psychic and Ghost types. Pursuit and Sucker punch shall dispose of them, especially those cocky Victini. The occasional swampert or offensive rhyperior may wander in, but hp grass handles them nicely. And of course, fire blast ruins the likes of grass types such as Shaymin who are a nuisance to my team.

As said above, I am open to all suggestions. Thanks for reading, and hope that smogon comes to its senses and does not ban Froslass.

I just fixed a small section that (I assume) you were trying to bold.
Otherwise nice team. Have you had any problems with Togekiss after losing Froslass at all?
Thanks Mr. K. I was but there must have been an issue with formating. Meloetta and Flygon have typically been able to handle togekiss, but as I have faced rarely faced it with this team I do not have much experience to go on, but I suppose under the right conditions togekiss could be an issue
Brotad goes "bump" in the night
oh nice team
